Episode #138: Why You Shouldn't Go Low Calorie For Too Long

Weight loss depends on eating less calories than you burn. 

So just eat less right? Turns out, it is not that simple. When we eat less calories for a long period of time we can send signals to the body that we are currently experiencing scarcity. 

In times of scarcity our body has very intelligent survival strategies which include preserving energy (aka holding on to body fat) and reducing reproductive capacity. 

Today on the podcast, I am going to talk about some of these processes and explain why low calories diets can fail people over the long term. 

I am also going to give some tips about what to do if you are already experiencing some of these effects that I describe.
