On this Episode, number 269, of the “Just Bein’ Honest Podcast”, I have Amanda Porta, Patient Advocate, of Dr. Kevin Brenner on the show!

Amanda has worked in the plastic surgery business for over 17 years.  Amanda developed symptoms consistent with Breast Implant Illness several years following her breast augmentation surgery. She initially met with and underwent explant surgery with Dr. Brenner in 2019. Since that time, she has become a BII Patient Advocate before teaming up with Dr. Brenner as his health coach and organizer of their breast team.

Today we are discussing how to the toxins we put in our body are mostly at times - silent killers. Breast Implants. Did you know that over time - even quite quickly - Breast Implant Illness can be detrimental to our overall health. Breast implant illness (BII) is a condition that isn't well understood but that can be debilitating. The symptoms vary from person to person and can include fatigue, joint pain, memory and concentration problems, and more.

Breast implant illness (BII) refers to a wide range of symptoms that develop in some people who have reconstruction or cosmetic enlargement with breast implants. BII isn’t an official medical diagnosis because it’s still not well understood. But some experts believe BII symptoms may be caused by an autoimmune or inflammatory reaction to the implants. BII can affect people with any type of breast implant, including silicone gel-filled, saline-filled, smooth surface, textured surface, round, or teardrop-shaped. BII can develop whether implants have ruptured or stayed intact.
