Way back on episode #129, I published a podcast episode discussing some of the health effects of coffee.
Check out that episode here.
I don't want to spoil it for you, but I presented lots of research and some pretty convincing data about the positive health effects of caffeine and coffee.
Today is a follow-up to that episode where I want to delve deeper into the relationship between coffee consumption and health, because it turns out that our response to coffee is largely determined by our genetics.
Today, I am going to discuss 4 genes and talk about how they impact response to caffeine consumption.
Here is the link to that genetic test that I mentioned on the show.
Toolbox Genomics
I recommend going with the Empower product, which I know covers the CYP gene.
Here is a link to the study that I drew this information from: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4242593/
