As we grow we learn all kinds of things and we have no control of how or what we learn. That is decided by the people who take care of us and our learning is shaped by how they teach us.
When we get older, we then get to decide how we think and this may involve unlearning ways of thinking from our past that no longer align with how we see ourselves and the world around us.
Unlearing is exactly that, it is unlearing ways of thinking from our past and learing new ways of thinking.
In this episode I discuss ways of unlearning, specifically cognitive dissonance and critical thinking.
As ever, this podcast is about hope and I talk you through ways that you can manage the issue of unlearning.
I'm an adolescent and adult chartered psychologist for the past two decades. This is a completely free and independant podcast, non-sponsored and ad-free to support you with your mental health. Please support this podcast by sharing and rating it. We all have issues, so let's talk about them.
