Three books, three Puerto Rican women writers, Esmeralda Santiago, Mayra Santos Febvre y Patricia Coral, rewriting the history of the female diaspora through their literature, aiming to heal the misplaced guilt of “sexile,” one of the least discussed aspects of immigration. Today’s CaribeFemLit segment focused on the violence that forces people to leave: sexile in contemporary Puerto Rican literature. The voice behind it is Anjanette Delgado, a writer and literary advocate, who also shares insights about her book El sexilio (La Criba, 2024).
