Your Years Will Have No End

This Sunday, Greg continues our summer series on Colossians. Colossians 1:19–20, the final section of the Christological hymn, emphasizes that Jesus is not merely a spiritual being but fully God, in whom all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell. Paul writes this to confront false teachings in Colossae that diminished Christ’s divinity and authority over all creation and spiritual powers. Reconciliation through Christ is entirely God's work—bringing broken humanity and creation back to Himself, not through mutual compromise, but through the blood of the cross. This peace Jesus offers is not the absence of trouble but the restoration of what was lost in the fall, the resolution of the deep dissonance we feel between what is and what ought to be. Jesus stepped into our suffering, endured the wrath we deserved, and now offers us peace, not as a concept, but as a Person who holds us steady beneath all the chaos.

He is the Head of the Church

This Sunday, Greg continues our summer series on Colossians. Paul wrote Colossians, alongside Ephesians, to counter false teachings about spiritual beings having authority over people’s lives. In Colossians 1:16, Paul lifts up the supremacy of Christ, presenting Jesus as both the Creator of all things and the head of the church, with everything holding together in Him. The Christian life is about being in Christ—a reality that anchors us in peace and overcomes fear. It is the only place where true rest and new creation are found.

In Colossians 1:15–17, Paul emphasized Jesus as the visible image of the invisible God—fully divine and fully human, holding all things together. Stable and Steadfast

This Sunday, Devon continues our summer series on Colossians. In Paul's letter to the Colossians, he meant to center the early church on the unchanging truth of Christ. Using the example of Epaphras, who heard the gospel and brought it home, he reminds us that ordinary people can carry extraordinary truth. Paul prays for the believers to be filled with wisdom, to live lives that reflect Jesus, to bear fruit, endure trials with joy, and grow in gratitude, offering a spiritual guide for a gospel-shaped life. We were once alienated from God but have been rescued and transferred into Christ’s kingdom through His death and resurrection.

Through Him and for Him

In Acts 20, Paul’s farewell to the Ephesians emphasizes that true faith often comes with suffering, and he urged the believers to be “constrained by the Spirit”—willing to obey God even when it’s costly or uncomfortable. He warned against false teaching, especially messages that appeal to comfort and avoid hard truths, reminding the church that a gospel that doesn’t confront us isn’t the real gospel. The church is to live boldly for Christ, anchored in Scripture and empowered by the Spirit, even when it means letting go of safety, ease, or reputation.

Mars Hill

This Sunday, Greg continues our series on the Book of Acts. In Acts 17, Paul engages the philosophers of Athens at Mars Hill—a city filled with idols and intellectual pride. Surrounded by temples to false gods, Paul boldly proclaims the one true God who made the world, gives life and breath to all, and cannot be contained by human temples or served by human hands. He confronts both Stoic and Epicurean worldviews, contextualizing the gospel in their language, and calls them to repent because God has appointed Jesus as the righteous judge, proven by His resurrection. The idols of our own culture—pleasure, power, success—are empty, but the gospel of Jesus is full of life and truth.

A Woman, a Slave Girl, and a Jailer

In Acts 16, we see how the gospel meets three very different people—a successful businesswoman, a spiritually oppressed slave girl, and a hardened Roman jailer—and transforms them each in unique ways through an encounter with Jesus. A Door of Faith

This Sunday, Devon continues our series on the Book of Acts. In Acts 13–14, Paul and Barnabas are sent out from Antioch. They preached across multiple cities, faced strong opposition, and ultimately saw the gospel begin to spread among the Gentiles, marking a major turning point in the early church. In the same way that God called Paul and Barnabas, He still calls ordinary people to walk through "doors of faith" to expand His Kingdom. Believers need to tune into the Holy Spirit, be intentionally present in the lives of those who don't know Jesus, and be committed to the long, patient work of spiritual influence.
