Jesus is not just the God of those who are on the top in this life, but He came to save those that are lost. He came for the downtrodden, the outcast, and the marginalized. He has the power to reach down into any situation and save to the uttermost.

Many of us tend to blame most of our problems on the devil or on other people rather than addressing the real issue. We are typically our own worst enemies. The heart inside each of us must be made new because it is the place where all of our battles are birthed.

Rahab found grace in the eyes of God because she had a heart that was able to be touched. Through her obedience, she and all that were in her house were saved from destruction. If we are to be saved, we will follow this same pattern of willing obedience to God.

The Bible speaks very clearly of the reality of a place called Hell. In spite of this truth, many in the current church culture avoid acknowledging the existence of Hell and its dangers. You must do whatever it takes to ensure that your life does not end in eternal damnation.

James clearly lays out the distinction between earthly and Heavenly wisdom. Earthly wisdom is carnal and seeks personal gain, but Heavenly wisdom is selfless and meek. While harvest-burners promote self above all else, kingdom-builders work as peacemakers and submit their personal will to that of God.

Throughout the stories of the Bible, many supernatural events took place in or at rivers. When you come down to the river, your focus should be on no one but Jesus. As we worship and focus on Him and not on our problems, we allow room for the supernatural to take place in our lives.

Jesus taught that those that believed in Him would receive His Spirit as rivers of living water. The Spirit of God is the river that flows through us and washes over every part of our being. It is not just a drink of water that we get on an occasional basis, but it can live in us!

The Bible explicitly warns of the danger and instability of being only partially committed to God. It is impossible to live in a double-minded state and to make it to Heaven. We must lay aside every other weight and sin and determine that we will make it all the way.

The Lord told David in II Samuel 5 that He would give him victory over the Philistines if he would wait for the moving of the wind in the tops of the mulberry trees. The wind, a type of the Spirit, likewise moves in each of our lives. Like David, we must be ready for action when the wind of the Spirit begins to move so that we can be in place to do the work of God.

The Holy Ghost in us is not something that comes as a one-time occurrence, but it can be renewed every day. The Spirit is there to lead and guide each of us. The more we are filled with Him, the less room there is for anything else.
