And I adore it when films accomplish it, particularly when they don't call attention to it—as in the case of the town gradually disappearing over time. It was actually necessary to divide this film into two halves. That would have taken care of nearly every problem I had with it. Nevertheless, it's still a fantastic film for the Halloween season and does fairly well for a King adaption. For those who aren't fans, the majority of the violence happens off-screen, even though there is some blood.
