  • Coffee Talk! w/Kelly Wallace-Barnhill

Who doesn’t love coffee? Well, Kirk for one. But Lindsey loves it and so does our special guest for this episode, friend of Food Fight (FOFF) and Lindsey’s co-host of the hysterical game show podcast, F*ck You, I’m Smarter, the incomparable Kelly Wallace-Barnhill! And when we says Kelly loves coffee, we mean SHE. LOVES. COFFEE. So she’s able to pick up the slack for Kirk’s dislike of coffee (weird) as the three discuss how coffee can be sexy, are coffee and cigarettes the perfect combination, is using a French Press masculine or feminine, should you judge an adult who orders a frappuccino, why people can’t figure out the difference between a latte and a cappuccino, and then Lindsey and Kelly partake in a speed round where they say “yay or “nay” to coffee-flavored foods! (Coffee-flavored olive oil, anyone?)

  • The (Failed) Food Fight Fine Dining Food Auction

Try saying that title five times fast. Hard, right? Well, it’s not as hard as coming up with a fine dining food auction. In fact, this entire episode is an exercise in futility. Kirk and Lindsey try to define what exactly fine dining is (hint: it’s not “a place where you work with memory, with art, a place where you find emotions”, an exact quote from one fine dining chef - barf), and then they talk about their fine dining experiences, Lindsey as a server and Kirk as an eater. Then the wheels come completely off when the two try to outbid each other for the best seven-course, fine dining meal. Things…don’t go well. Let’s just blame it on math.

  • Cake 2: Electric Boogaloo w/Warren Brown

Other than the way Kirk says “egg,” the debate over cake is one of the food topics on Food Fight! that has garnered the most controversy. So in order to squash those (cake) beefs, Kirk and Lindsey have brought in an actual cake expert — special guest Warren Brown! Kirk and Warren went to high school together (a long, long, LONG time ago), and they talk about how Warren went from attorney to baker to entrepreneur to author to former host of the Food Channel show, ‘Sugar Rush’ and much more. The three then dig right in and debate classic cake arguments like cake vs. frosting, what’s the best frosting/cake combo, why does fondant suck so bad, should cake go with ice cream, and is Kirk a monster for eating cake over the sink with his hands? Then on a very special “How’s It Taste?“, Kirk and Lindsey get to try some of Warren’s latest creation, Don’t Forget Cake!, aka, cake in a jar!

  • Kirk’s “It’s My Birthday So Let Me Rant About Everything” Show

It’s Kirk’s 51st birthday! (OUCH.) So to honor his special born day and the fact that he’s all growns up (REALLY?), Kirk has asked Lindsey to let him rant about various food controversies that are stuck in his craw. So it’s all over the place as the two debate why pizza places are cutting their slices too skinny these days, is it upsetting to have different foods touch each other, do peas belong in guacamole, what’s the proper way to make a PB &J sandwich, edge piece brownies vs. middle piece brownies, and does ketchup belong on fries or on the side? And, in a very special “How’s It Taste?” Lindsey screws up so bad that she actually, for the first time in Food Fight! history, apologizes to Kirk.

  • The Very First Food Fight Field Trip!

On this very special episode of Food Fight! (not “special” in the “on a very special Food Fight! Kirk confronts Lindsey about the dangers of sniffing glue” sense, but you know what we mean), Kirk and Lindsey are talking Indian food! They debate which type of bread is the best, fight over the value of mango chutney, discuss why samosas are OVERRATED, how good dosas are, and how stupid they both are for not realizing what the paneer in saag paneer is. Then, for the very first time in Food Fight! history, the two go on an actual field trip to a local L.A. Indian joint to try some vegetarian Indian food! Question or comment? • Mediterranean Food…Best Lunch Option Ever?

What’s better for lunch than Mediterranean food? Nothing…the answer is nothing. So if you can’t get behind that, then Kirk and Lindsey can’t even with you. And despite Mediterranean food encompassing many different cultures and many different countries, these two still have A LOT of opinions. They discuss hummus vs. baba ganoush, is flavored hummus even necessary, is falafel the most important dish of all, how good are stuffed grape leaves, what’s the difference between gyros and shawarmas, tabbouleh vs. couscous, what’s the correct way to pronounce “spanakopita”, and why hasn’t Lindsey ever tried saganaki?

  • Vietnamese Food Is So Pho-king Good!

See what we did with the title there? Genius. And you know what else is genius? Vietnamese food! On this episode, Kirk and Lindsey sink their teeth into some bahn mi’s, argue which soup wins — pho or ramen, debate whether Vietnamese summer rolls are the best rolls in the world, is the nước chắm sauce the most important part of all Vietnamese food, should pho be eaten in the summer, would they ever eat balut (Google it), and the two debate which ridiculous yet REAL names of Pho joints are the dumbest.

  • BBQ…Cocaine…The Same?

Both Kirk and Lindsey love BBQ, but both realize that, because of where they live, they have not had the best. Lindsey’s made peace with that. Kirk…not so much. So while the two dig into a little food therapy about how to enjoy BBQ without FOMO, they also debate which style of BBQ is the best, what’s the best sauce, why getting BBQ chicken instead of any other meat is just plain dumb, the wrongness of Alabama White Sauce, what sides go best with BBQ, and why, definitively, BBQ is 100% exactly like cocaine.

  • Is A Pop Tart A Pastry?

Kirk feels that pastries are life. Lindsey? Not so much. So this episode immediately starts off cantankerous. Not only do they dive deep into whether a Pop Tart can be considered a pastry, but they also debate muffin vs. scone; are pastries better at breakfast, for dessert, or as a snack; are macarons prettier than they are tasty; does a pastry have to be sweet to be called a pastry; and Kirk describes his ultimate pastry fantasy. Will Lindsey support it?

  • Seafood…Fancy AND Sexy?

The great thing about seafood is that it can be basic, it can be fancy, and it can be sexy; it’s the food equivalent of the little black dress. Kirk and Lindsey dive (see what we did there?) into the topic of seafood, debating if shrimp cocktail is the “California Roll” of seafood; are cheddar biscuits the best thing to eat at Red Lobster; what’s better — crab or lobster; paella vs. jambalaya; and is caviar overrated. Meanwhile, Lindsey is unclear if shrimps actually have heads, while Kirk encourages everyone to suck the heads of any and all shellfish.
