  • America’s Favorite Breakfast Is Yogurt Parfait? Really? W/Kelly Wallace-Barnhill

We’re not sure if it’s true that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”, but we do know that people love breakfast. Like…A LOT. And to help dissect that love, Kirk and Lindsey have brought back (from the brunch episode) a friend of Food Fight! and the co-host of the hilarious game show podcast, “F**k You, I’m Smarter”, Kelly Wallace-Barnhill! The three discuss when breakfast officially becomes brunch, is breakfast in bed cool or disgusting, waffles vs, pancakes, hash browns vs. home fries, bacon vs. sausage, which breakfasts from other countries you would or wouldn’t eat, and Lindsey goes off on a conspiracy rant about why yogurt parfaits are so inexplicably popular in the U.S.

  • Is Denny’s Really A Diner? (With Mike Beyer!)

Lindsey is out of town this week, so Kirk decides to bring in the legendary Mike Beyer —the man who once ate sushi with orange juice— to talk about diner food! Kirk and Mike grew up together in Cleveland and lived together in Chicago, home to some of the best diners in the country. Kirk and Mike discuss their love of the 1982 movie ‘Diner’ which influenced their love of the diner lifestyle, then debate what’s the best thing to order at a diner, what not to order at a diner (looking at you, fish), is a diner better at breakfast or late at night, is Denny’s really a diner, does diner food really need to be THAT good to be acceptable, and how wrong it is to order a salad at a diner?

  • Kirk Does Not Like Lindsey’s Popcorn Ways

Kirk thinks popcorn is fine, but loves lots of different flavors. Lindsey loves popcorn, but only likes a few flavors. Will the two even come close to finding a common ground when it comes to popcorn? Ummm…kinda. The two debate whether it’s better one kernel at a time or by the fistful, which shape of popcorn is the best, is using movie butter on your popcorn a sin, what’s better - burnt or half-popped, what’s the best add-on to your popcorn (answer: it’s ALWAYS peanut M&Ms), and then the two go over a long list of popcorn flavors to figure out which one is the most disgusting. Yeah…it’s that type of episode.

  • Korean Fried Chicken The BEST Fried Chicken

Korean food may not be everyone’s “go-to” Asian cuisine, but Kirk and Lindsey are here to fight the naysayers cause it’s actually friggin’ great. The two talk about the genius of Korean fried chicken, discuss if bibimbap is the “gateway drug” to Korean food, argue tips on eating Korean BBQ, debate if the tofu in soft tofu stew is TOO soft, fight over the best banchan side dishes, question the sanity of drinking a Soju Bloody Mary, and Lindsey gets all salty as she continually makes fun of the way Kirk says, “egg.”

  • Are After-School Snacks As Good As We Remember?

Remember when school was over and we came home, watched TV, and ate whatever the hell we wanted? Yeah…good times. Kirk and Lindsey revisit those wonder years as they discuss a whole assortment of after-school snacks, including Dunkaroos, Bugles, Capri Suns, Shark Bites, Bagel Bites, Fruit Gushers, Sunny D, and Ritz Crackers. And then they each draft their own after-school, playdate menu to see which one would make them the most popular kid on the block!

  • Why Does Kirk Hate Ice Cream?

This episode has been a long time coming, mainly because of the fact that Kirk has so many issues surrounding ice cream. With the help of his food therapist Lindsey, the two dig into why he doesn’t like eating ice cream anymore, as well as a few “traumatic” ice cream stories from Kirk’s past. They also debate plain or sugar cone, Ben & Jerry’s vs. Häagen-Dazs, how many different flavors are acceptable before it becomes too much, would you eat a sundae as an adult, are Drumsticks worth it, and how many samples should you be allowed to try in an ice cream shop before they should kick you out?

  • Should an Adult Say Pizza Is Their Favorite Food?

Who doesn’t love pizza? Well, maybe weirdos who hate flavor, but for the rest of us, pizza is EVERYTHING. But should you call pizza your “favorite food”? That’s just one of the many things Kirk and Lindsey fight over in this episode, along with how many toppings is too much, should chicken go on pizza, how bad is Hawaiian pizza, should Chicago deep dish even be called pizza, what’s more important - cheese or sauce, which chain pizza sucks the least, is a knife and fork allowed, and Kirk gets his feelings hurt because Lindsey has never seen “Saturday Night Fever.”

  • Do NOT Sleep on Peruvian Food! w/Carlos Perez

Peruvian food can often be overlooked and, frankly, that’s a damn crime. It’s SO good! That’s why Kirk and Lindsey (who has eaten a ton of Peruvian food but for some reason can’t remember the names of what she’s eaten…or when she’s eaten them…or even where) have brought in Kirk’s buddy from high school, Carlos Perez, to discuss the joys of this amazing cuisine. The three discuss if lomo saltado is the Peruvian gateway food, is bistek ala pobre the greatest food mashup ever, would any of them actually eat guinea pig, what the hell is in that green sauce that makes everything taste so good, why pisco sours are dangerous, and then they get into a huge argument about whether flan is worth it or not.

  • The Best (and Worst) Food to Get in a Mall Food Court

Most malls aren’t open (cause, you know, pandemic), but that doesn’t stop Lindsey and Kirk from arguing (and reminiscing) about mall food courts. We not only learn about what the two were like as teenagers (Lindsey was a bad ass, Kirk…not so much), but the two also debate if Hot Dog on a Stick is even worth it, is Sbarro the saddest pizza ever, can it be called a mall food court if there ISN’T a Panda Express, Auntie Anne’s vs. Wetzels Pretzels, is Cinnabon like a drug, what exactly is a Dippin’ Dot, and for a very special “How’s It Taste?“, Kirk and Lindsey compete to create the ideal mall food court!

  • What’s More Important? The Frosting or the Cake?

Cake is such a special food that you need more than Kirk and Lindsey to talk about it, so they brought in frequent guest host Theodore Pynchon to help! The three debate frosting vs. cake, does cake taste better in a square or in a triangle, does fruit belong in cake, how much does fondant suck, is ice cream and cake THAT good of a combo, and Kirk fesses up and reveals some important information about their salad competition from the last episode!
