Former Action Guys Podcast

Cameron Langland served in the United States Marine Corps and we cover a good portion of his military career in Ep. 031 (audio only). In this episode, we take a deep dive into Cameron's three-year road trip in his RV named Lucy. This trip took him around the United States, Mexico, Central and South America. How this journey commenced is a tale worthy of its own movie and I think the listeners will enjoy it.

Col Tucker Hamilton is an F-35 test pilot who started his flying career in an F-15. He has also flown the MC-12 Liberty; an unarmed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform (ISR). In addition, Hamilton is the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Accelerator at MIT.

Insightful interview with someone that has flown multiple aircraft to the limit.

Sgt Erik Goodge was a United States Marine Corps Fire Support Man that hails from Evansville, IN. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and, with other members of 2nd Battalion 8th Marine Regiment, deployed in support of President Obama's surge in Afghanistan.

During Goodge's discussion about his deployment, the listener hears what difficulties faced the Marines that were new to the area and what life was like for the infantryman and their enablers. Goodge also details how he was wounded by an IED that was initiated by an Afghan National Army soldier that resulted in 2 ANA deaths, 1 Marine death and multiple injuries within the patrol.

In addition to Goodge's time in the Marines, we discuss college benefits, cryptocurrency, investing and more. This is a really great conversation that I hope you enjoy. Make sure to subscribe on your favorite platforms!

Before Jason Angell took on the role of Marine Artillery Officer in 2000, he was a Marine Rifleman in the mid-90s. After joining 11th Marines, Jason was billeted as a forward observer and deployed with 1st Battalion 5th Marines with his fire support team during the invasion of Iraq.

This was an interesting interview with an in-depth description of multiple combat events during the invasion. I look forward to our next interview where we will discuss his next two Iraq deployments as a JTAC with 1st ANGLICO.
