The Book of Joe Podcast begins with Hosts Tom Verducci and World Series Champion Joe Maddon welcoming legendary musician Max Weinberg to the show. We've been talking about 'Glue Guys' and how important they are in keeping a team together. Max explores the importance of having chemistry in a band or team and the hurdles it can bring. Max was inducted into the NJ Hall of Fame and discusses some of the special moments of his ceremony. As in sports, being on stage is all about being nimble and adjusting to what's in front of you. No matter the obstacle, Max tells us what it takes to keep the music going. Max compares holding his drumsticks to an MLB player holding his bat and how he had to learn new grips to play more relaxed. Max takes us through his journey of trying out for Little League, auditioning for Bruce Springsteen, and being named as the leader of The Tonight Show Band. Max reveals that Bruce is a big baseball fan and gives us a scouting report on The Boss playing shortstop!

In soccer, the best, most efficient form of myth-making happens at the FIFA World Cup. It’s been this way since 1930, and every four years since. The World Cup has grown into a behemoth since that time, with a global viewership of 3.5 billion. That’s right, billion. That’s a third of the world tuning in to see the crescendo of the most popular sport.
The World Cup is where players announce themselves, heroes are born, legends first whispered, and crowns forged. That’s where Kings of Soccer are anointed.
The Best Soccer Podcast in the World will guide us through the World Cup's most memorable moments and their protagonists as the world gears up for the FIFA World Cup in November 2022. On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring the excitement to what had been a rather mundane NFL Sunday. First off, it's become painfully obvious that the New York Jets have a Zach Wilson problem. The second-year quarterback should've been benched in the Jets' ugly loss to the New England Patriots. He's missing open receivers, he's throwing the ball into coverage and worst of all he seems oblivious to the impact he's having on the rest of his teammates. Whether it happens during the season or in the offseason, the Jets will certainly be making a quarterback change. Speaking of quarterbacks, fresh off the latest Los Angeles Chargers collapse, Rob G believes it's time that we have an honest conversation about Justin Herbert. Herbert has elite tools, but is he really an elite quarterback? He doesn't win games as often as you'd expect and his numbers this season have been mostly middle-of-the-road. Moving over to the NFC, it's clear after the Dallas Cowboys' blowout victory on the road in Minnesota that Kirk Cousins and the Vikings are frauds. How else do you explain away an 8-2 team having a negative point differential? Outside of a miraculous win over the Buffalo Bills last week, the Vikings have been destroyed every time they step up in class. On the flip side, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys proved on Sunday that the overtime loss last week against the Green Bay Packers was an aberration and that they should be viewed as legitimate Super Bowl contenders coming out of the NFC; Just imagine if Dallas can find a way to land Odell Beckham Jr. Finally, the guys close the show with a very special Monday Night Football San Francisco 49ers-Arizona Cardinals edition of the Best Bet.
