Could you please explain the problems stemming from the trucking and brokerage that have historically made it difficult to leverage network effects?
What is a hybrid carrier? What characteristics of this new model will promote economies of scale? What are those key ingredients?
I think everyone agrees that this model, particularly shippers narrowing their logistics provider networks, will drive down costs to shippers over time. This is also much easier to accomplish with smaller-volume shippers. Larger shippers need to know that the network is there in one provider in order to put all or most of their eggs in one basket.
That being said, what does a hybrid carrier have to achieve in order for that shipper’s trust to occur?
What elements of this model need more profound support throughout the industry to see more adoption?
