The two met while Kelley was working at Restoration Hardware. They bonded over a love of travel and design, believing that travel fosters creativity. They started their business as a side-hustle, taking design clients in their spare time. Two initial investments helped set the stage for success: professional photography of their project and lawn signs that they placed int their client's yards. Eventually they took their side-hustle full time, and soon launched a retail component of their business.
