DCW is joined by Mike and WD18's Charlie Zazzera to reflect on Saturday's 1-0 loss away at Stoke. We pick the bones out of a largely lacklustre performance and attempt to take the temperature of the new season after a win, a draw and a loss in the first three games. The lack of goals in the last two matches comes into sharp focus as we assess the ongoing search for a new striker and look at the type of player who is likely to fill that particular need.
We also check in on the women's team ahead of their opening game of the season against Durham on Sunday, and we look ahead to the men's outing against Blackburn Rovers on the same day, in this, the latest edition of From the Rookery End. Come on you ‘Orns!

Watford got their season off to the best start imaginable, swatting aside an abject QPR on opening day. Now’s your chance to hear what Jas, Jon and Mike made of the first game of the Valérien Ismaël era, in a brand new From the Rookery End podcast.
It’s all here, from Mike trying his best to try and something to be miserable about, to thoughts on the pre and post match music, and of course a breakdown of what was at times a breathtaking performance by the Golden Boys.

After 11 years of owning Watford FC, Gino Pozzo came face to face with Watfird fans. 80 or so supporters went to Watford's London Colney Training Ground for a Q&A, organised by a group of fans, with Gino and Scott Duxbury.
Plenty of questions were asked... were answers forthgiving? Jon and Mike were there and discuss their reaction to the answers and their impressions of meeting Gino for the first time.

Well. Can you believe it’s been ten years since that moment? Ten years since the double save. Ten years since that flowing move and the ever increasing crescendo of noise. Ten years since Hogg’s perfect header. Ten years since THAT Troy Deeney finish.
To mark the occasion we spoke to a whole host of Watford supporters about their recollections of not just the goal, but of the entire day. The pre match feelings, the post match carnage. It’s all here. That magnificent day, that unforgettable moment. All told by those that witnessed it. And a few that didn’t.
Happy Deeney day everybody. Come on you ‘Orns.
