成了佛，因缘聚会时还要还债。不能不还！ When you become a buddha, you still must pay back your debts when conditions are ripe for karma to manifest.
下面第五个问题。困难时期一些农民欠下了国家债而没还，因为国家还没有追究，这样来生是否还是要还？往生的人是否需要还？
Next, the fifth question：During difficult times some farmers owed national debt and failed to repay it. Because the government did not pressure them to pay this back, will they still have to pay it back in their next life? Also, do those people who are born in the world of Amitabha Pure Land, need to repay?
往生的人没有了，他脱离了。但是往生的人如果再到这个世间来应化众生，遇到这个缘还是要还。
The people who are born in the world of Amitabha Pure Land will not repay because they have left this world; but if such a person comes back to this world to transform sentient beings, he still has to repay this fate when he meets it.
怎么知道呢？释迦摩尼佛给我们示现。世尊早成佛了。《梵网经》上说，他这次到世间来示现成佛是第八千次，这就说明早成佛了。
How do we know that? Shakyamuni Buddha reveals it to us. He had already become a Buddha a long time ago. Brahma Net Sutra says that this is the eight thousandth time that he had come to this world to show people how to become a Buddha; thus he implied that he had already become a buddha a long time ago.
During this eightieth time he had eaten three months of grain fed to horses as pay back for his bad karma, as a long time ago, before he became a buddha, he saw another buddha preaching sermons and jealousy arose; he then remarked that buddhas only deserve to eat horses’grain.
这跟世间人说明，【万法皆空，因果不空】。成了佛，因缘聚会时还要还债。不能不还！
All phenomena are empty of true self, but causes and effect can still rule the self. When you become a buddha, you still must pay back your debts when conditions are ripe for karma to manifest. You then have to pay them back!
安世高确实，证得什么的果位，我们不知道，至少他是法身菩萨。圆教初住以上，示现在中国。你去看传记，安世高的传记还两次命债，都是在广州。
An Shigao was an ancient Indian scholar monk. We don’t know what state he attained, but at least he that of a Dharmakaya Bodhisattva. He then showed up in China with this high status. If you look at his biography, you will see that he repaid his life debt twice, both in Guangzhou Province, China.
过去生中在那边误伤害了人，把人害死，误杀不是有意的，所以还债的时候，也是别人误杀，还两次债。
In a past life he accidentally killed two people. It was considered manslaughter and not intentional. Therefore, when he repaid the debt it was for manslaughter, and he paid it twice.
Those who owe life will pay back life and those who owe money will pay back money.
所以我们明白之后要晓得，这个世间有所谓是占便宜的，没这回事情，吃亏的也没这回事情。因果通三世，所以不用计较。
If we understand this karma, we should know there is no such thing as taking advantage in this world, and there is no such thing as being at a disadvantage as well. Cause and effect are connected to previous, current and future lives of sentient beings; so there is no need to keep score of advantages and disadvantages in your heart.
这一生别人占了我们便宜，欢欢喜喜，来生还加利息，有什么好懊恼的！所以我们自己决定不可以占别人便宜。
We should be detached when others take advantage of us in this life, as interest will be added to us in our next lives. It is nothing to be upset about; but we ourselves must not take advantage of others.
才真正懂得古人讲【吃亏是福】。对于真正吃亏，不会觉得我们吃亏，我上当了。不会。若无其事，这个人福报就大！
We truly then will understand what the ancients said: “Suffering a loss is a blessing.” If we really suffered a loss but we do not think about it, then it is as though nothing happened and it will not affect us. This kind of person has great blessings.
真的是所欠的，就还掉了。债了了。如果不是我欠他的，他来占有我的，来生他还要加倍还。何必计较。欢欢喜喜地让他，将来他是欢欢喜喜的还给你。你说多好！
If you owed that person who took advantage of you in previous life, then his taking advantage of you has already repaid your past debt. However, if you don’t owe him anything and he comes to take something of yours and does not repay you, he will have to repay more in the future; so no need to bother. Give it to him willingly and he will return it to you willingly in the future. How wonderful is this knowing of the law of giving and taking.
