I really could have just taken a breath. How was I supposed to know that a calling to build a church in India, was not a calling to serve, but perhaps to just be loved.... by God.... just because.... I had always been Beloved by the God I sought.

34 min - Meet Anna Winget!Anna Winget grew up loving Jesus and being committed to their faith. They felt loved by their family, and loved by God. Then, Anna started having thoughts, and feelings that were not approved by their Mormon upbringing. They always felt different, living in a single parent home, devoted to reading their Book of Mormon at recess, and even at the young age of 5, having an aha moment when they saw Bette Midler and Beaches for the first time! - Meet Pastor Chester Hitchcock!Pastor Chester Hitchcock loves to ”preach, teach and counsel people regarding the good news of Jesus.” He was forced into early retirement because he knew God was open and affirming and he was in a denomination that was not open or affirming.He began his journey after meeting a couple where the husband had completed his transition from MTF. This couple had come to his church after the transition, along with their children. When she wanted to get baptized, he did it.That is when the members of the congregation began to complain and spew homophobic rhetoric, and Pastor Chester was encouraged to take his early retirement. Listen in as he explains how his youtube series, God Loves the LGBTQ+ Community focuses on how the ”clobber verses” have been misinterpreted. - Meet Mike Maeshiro!Mike Maeshiro was raised in the Baptist Church and at age 4...you read that right, at age 4, Mike was terrified of Hell. He spent the next 18 years being a Christian to avoid the Hell he believed to be true. Then, he had a Radical experience, an encounter with God that would plant the seed for his awakening, knowing that his sexuality was not a sin! He couldn’t allow it to happen then, because he was not safe to live out and proud, even though, God affirmed that they had made him Gay. Fourteen years later, God came to him 6 or 7 more times, specifically addressing his shame and his sexuality, giving him glimpses of who he was called to become. Three years later, the intensity of the Holy Spirit made it clear that staying silent and in the shadows was no longer Mike’s place and that he, Mike Maeshiro, had a platform that he was not using. They made it clear that Mike was ready to do the work of cleansing, surrendering, and releasing the pain so he could authentically live his truth. He did surrender, cracked open his pain, began to heal, and his life has never been the same!1 hr 4 min
- Meet Charlie Baber!Charlie Baber never knew he was gay. He was told that he was ”different” when he was younger, and the older kids teased him during recess. At his wedding, his father cried, later telling him, ”I knew you shouldn’t have married a woman.” He realized in Divinity School that there were Gay Christians who had the fruits of the spirit, and that compelled him to dive deeper into the scriptures. He became an ally to the gay community, without being able to give that to himself. The fear of being found out as he ministered to the youth in his church, of losing his family, and his kids, was too much. He tried to be who everyone thought he was until he experienced a traumatic dissociative fugue. - Meet Elizabeth Jarrett Andrew!A childhood filled with vivid & mystical dreams, and a deep relationship with the God of her understanding. Then, the reality of seeing how differently others prayed and lived their Christianity interrupted her deep and abiding relationship with God. She buried her knowings until she could no longer hold her authentic self back. She did what she had always done, she wrote and by doing so, Elizabeth Jarrett Andrew, found a way to step into her truth and claim that she can be Bisexual and be loved by God. In fact, she could not have that deep relationship without accepting her sexuality. Elizabeth believes that Gay people, ”have special gifts” that is exactly what we need in this world.
