Members Reviews:
Quirky, Funny Cat Woman on a Walker
Grumpy Gertrude and her cats, has left the homeless shelter for the trailer park, when she finds two kids left alone in a neighboring trailer . . . off on the search for their mother, she gets more than she bargained for . . . her antics are hilarious . . . and old age doesn't slow her down . . . I was, however, disappointed to hear that she was slipping salt and pepper shakers into her bag that was hanging from her walker in the fancy restaurant . . . no matter how expensive the soup was . . . good conclusion . . . but don't think I will be continuing the series . . .
Cute Cozy
Gertrude is both naïve and feisty, while trying to solve a murder she makes several mistakes. Let the hijinks begin!!
4/5 Cozy Mystery Starring the Cranky Old Cat Lady
Summary: Meet Gertrude. Shes an eccentric, cat-loving, cranky, coot with mild kelpto tendencies who toddles around with a walker and finds plenty of trouble.
Additional Comments:
- We dont really know much about Gertrude or how she got to be where she is in a tiny trailer park. Maybe more of her past comes out in future story. I only mention that because shes occasionally delightfully and occasionally eye-brow raising sort of naïve. (i.e. stars in a Thai restaurant, existence of P.I. licenses, etc)
- Shes willful, opinionated, and nosy, but she cares. While that might rub some readers the wrong way, I think its part of her charm.
- The cranky part of her character manifests as rude at times, but there are parts where her better nature shines through.
- I heard the audio version. The narrator handled voices superbly, but her normal reading tone sounded pretty robotic.
- The salt shaker collections a tad weird.
- We dont actually see much of her cats, which is odd given she has so many of them.
- The side characters are intriguing but could be fleshed out more. Im assuming there will be some recurring characters throughout the series.
Conclusion: Its a solid start to a cozy mystery series. Theres a definite flavor here. Many will find it amusing.

Interesting Story
This was a very funny and interesting story. Gertrude seems like a an old fuddy duddy. But, she does has a kind heart. However, she lacks some skills. Overall she's funny..
