Greg Laurie: A New Beginning

It’s an often-asked question. America is one of Israel’s most supportive allies. Yet, Last Days’ Scripture doesn’t seem to mention the United States. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, as Pastor Greg Laurie continues our enlightening series in the book of Revelation, he proposes several different scenarios that may explain our absence from the text. It’s an eye-opening look at how close we may be to the next event on God’s prophetic timetable and a reminder of how we need to be prepared.

In this special episode, we’re bringing you Pastor Greg Laurie’s message from this year’s SoCal Harvest, titled, “What You’re Really Looking For.”

This event—which took place on Sunday, October 3 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California—saw over 40,000 people in attendance and an additional 200,000 pageviews from those joining online. By the end of the evening, over 6,000 people made professions of faith to follow Jesus Christ.

Throughout his message, Pastor Greg discussed the lure of fame, success, and money—but also asks the question, Who do so many people who have it all end up being so miserable?

To this, he offered an answer through the gospel message: “The meaning of life,” Pastor Greg summarized, “is to know the God who created you.”

Watch a video replay of the whole event here.

It can be agonizing when we’re treated harshly . . . but even more so if we’ve done nothing wrong. But today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie brings us a fresh perspective on the sufferings we face, especially when being persecuted for our faith. And he’ll contrast our persecution with the devilish persecution faced by some during the Great Tribulation – those who accepted Christ after the Rapture. But we’ll see the Bible records their suffering as a victory over the beast.

One of the most positive things people can say about us is that we’re “followers” of Jesus Christ. It means we’re willing to follow His lead, we’re active in our belief, we’ve put feet to our faith. And today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie takes us to Revelation 14 where we learn about a group of exactly 144,000 “followers” of Jesus. A group recorded for time and eternity in Scripture. We’ll see what makes them unique, and learn to follow in their footsteps.

In 1998, the Etch a Sketch was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. With it, you can draw picture after picture, as complicated as you want. If you mess up, turn it upside down, give it a shake, and start over.

Today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie says, no matter how your life is messed up, God offers you the chance to turn your life right side up and start over. Shaking is optional. A case in point today from the Gospel of John, and the Gospel of Luke.
