After a week hiatus, the Guttter Boys return! In this episode, JB and Cam talk about the pros and cons of living in the big city as a working comic creator and the devaluing of the medium with regards to TV and movie adaptions.
JB and Cam read their first email touching on digital comics from Episode 3. They also discuss hashtag usage among artists and other social media trappings, upcoming projects that are currently in the works, comics that get made but never published, and defining "selling out" in comics and what that entails. Continuing their previous conversation about digital comics, JB and Cam continue share their thoughts on moving from drawing on paper the old fashioned way to drawing digitally, the pros and cons, and what it means for both of them as artists. Lastly, JB goes on a weird rant about editors and portfolios and how this reflects the comic industry's refusal to keep up with the times as a business.
On this episode of Gutter Boys, JB chats with fellow Chicago-based artist Davey K about his journey from the visual arts into comics. Once they're done JO'ing for a while, Cam and JB talk about stuff to fill up that sweet runtime.
For more information about Davey and his work, visit www.davey-k.com or find him on Instagram as @daveyk86.
JB and Cam are joined by special guest Dylan aka @drugdogs and discuss what currently excites them about comics, as well as taking a deep dive into the dating life of a comic creator.
In the debut episode of GUTTER BOYS, JB & Cam introduce themselves, their origin stories, the creative process, zine fest and convention experiences, comic news, and upcoming events.
