Hi guys did you know there was such a thing as "Hope Theory"? 

Dr Andrew wrote a paper on this theory a few years ago. He is excellent at simplifying and teasing out the various emotional strands which can make us feel helpless and hopeless. Roshni (16), is the lead in this conversation and she very naturally reflects back the bones of what Andrew says in a way which helps solidify the points he raises.

This is a podcast I will definitely listen to again, as I feel there are more gems to be collected, after I've put into practice a few of his suggestions.

The young people I know have expressed their feelings of helplessness and hopelessness for some time now; so I decided to help them see that they are powerful and that there is light at the end of the tunnel, by asking them to help me organise this mini series. 

I want them to know that most of the content I produce can be listened to by anyone, as there are nuggets of truth for people of all ages and from all backgrounds.

She is also an Assistant Professor of Instruction at The University of Texas. Karen has worked with local, national, and international organizations. Her recent books and curricula include TRANS+: Love, Sex, Romance, and Being You, An Introduction to Sexuality Education: A Handbook for Child Welfare Providers, and UN|HUSHED: The Elementary Curriculum.
