He also gets into why he feels classical music has been able to endure in the current landscape of music, as well as why he feels it's particularly important that it does.

Still, the world-renowned cellist does have a soft-spot for certain pop and rock artists. He's collaborated with several rock icons -- like U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers -- and enjoys the ways the different schools of music intersect.
