Wilderness seasons rarely feel chosen. They feel imposed—unexpected diagnoses, uncertain futures, overwhelming responsibilities, or fears we never wanted to face. Yet Scripture reminds us that God guided His people safely, so they were unafraid. Notice it doesn’t say there was no wilderness. It says He guided them through it.
Fear often tells us we cannot handle what is in front of us. But God never asks us to handle it alone. He invites us to walk with Him through it. The wilderness becomes a place not of abandonment, but of deeper dependence. It is where faith is stretched, where courage is formed, and where God’s presence becomes more tangible than our fear.
You may be facing something right now that feels bigger than you—something you once said you could never endure. But the same God who led His people through the Red Sea, through deserts, through valleys, is leading you. He does not stand at a distance and shout instructions. He walks beside you. He sustains you when you feel exhausted. He steadies you when anxiety rises. He provides peace that does not make sense in light of your circumstances.
The wilderness is not proof of God’s absence. It is often the place where His guidance becomes clearest. You are not wandering alone. He is leading you safely, step by step.

TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE
"He guided them safely, so they were unafraid." - Psalm 78:53
Your Evening Prayer
Father,
Thank You for walking with me through every wilderness season. When fear rises and the future feels uncertain, help me fix my eyes on You instead of my circumstances. Remind me that You are guiding me safely, even when I cannot see the full path ahead. Give me strength when I feel weak, peace when anxiety creeps in, and faith when my heart wants to doubt. I surrender my fears to You tonight and choose to trust Your leading hand. Thank You for loving me more deeply than I can comprehend and for never leaving my side.
Amen.
