  • 22. Why Family, Friends, and Community Can’t Replace Each Other

Why do so many people feel lonely even when they’re surrounded by others?
In this episode, I unpack the fact that loneliness isn’t always about being alone - it can be about asking the wrong things from the wrong relationships.

We’ve been taught to treat family, friends, and community as interchangeable - but they’re not. And when we blur those roles, we end up drained, disappointed, overextended, or disconnected. In this episode, I break down the real differences between family, friendship, and community, why each serves a distinct purpose, and how confusing them fuels burnout, resentment, and the modern loneliness epidemic.

We’ll talk about why community is rooted in shared responsibility, decency, and contribution - not emotional intimacy or convenience; why friendship is built on choice, capacity, and reciprocity; and why family doesn’t always fulfill the role it was meant to - and how to find peace with that reality. I also explore how our culture’s obsession with self-care, productivity, and “protecting your peace” has quietly replaced community care with isolation - and why healing, belonging, and real support don’t actually happen alone.

    If you’ve ever wondered:

    • Why your relationships feel exhausting or unsatisfying
    • Why having people doesn’t always mean feeling supported
    • Why community can feel uncomfortable, demanding, or confusing
    • Or why loneliness persists even when you’re not technically alone

this episode will help you reframe your relationships, clarify your expectations, and understand where true support actually comes from.

Tune in for a grounded, honest conversation about relationships, responsibility, and why to have a village, you have to be willing to be a villager.

  • 21. Are Trauma and Propaganda Reshaping Our Capacity for Compassion?

Why does compassion feel harder right now? Why do conversations shut down so quickly? And why does questioning certain beliefs feel like a personal attack?

In this episode, I explore the connection between unprocessed trauma and propaganda, and how survival shapes the way people seek safety, certainty, and identity. Drawing from my family’s lived experience, I break down how trauma conditions people to prioritize safety over curiosity - and how propaganda exploits that need by offering something to cling to.

She unpacks the idea of savior identity - how a country, system, or belief can become untouchable when it’s tied to survival - and why questioning it can feel like questioning the self. When identity is built around survival rather than awareness, compassion often goes offline, defensiveness takes over, and logic stops landing.

This episode also connects these dynamics to relationships, showing how the same survival patterns appear in closeness: staying because it feels safer than leaving, shutting down honesty to keep stability, and confusing protection with connection.

At its core, this conversation is about safety - how it’s wired, how it’s outsourced, and why building internal safety is what allows curiosity, compassion, and choice to return.

  • 20. It's Time to Silence Your Inner Critic

Sign up for Thrive Thursday - my free weekly newsletter that translates "self-leadership" into practical guidance for healthy relationships & emotional steadiness - with yourself & others.

Ready to silence your inner critic? If you had a boss who spoke to you the way your inner critic does, you’d probably quit.

In this episode, I explore why your inner critic sounds so harsh - and how to change your relationship with it without silencing yourself, bypassing reality, or pretending everything’s fine when it’s not.

Using the metaphor of a bad boss, I unpack how many high-functioning people unknowingly lead themselves through constant criticism, pressure, and self-punishment - while rarely acknowledging effort, progress, or growth.

    In this episode, I share:

    • Why your inner critic developed in the first place - and what it’s actually trying to do
    • How to stop letting your inner critic “run the company” unchecked
    • A practical 3-part framework for becoming a better "boss" to yourself

This episode is for you if you’re self-aware, reflective, and tired of living in reaction mode - and ready to lead your life with more clarity, self-trust, and emotional steadiness.

Because the way you speak to yourself determines whether your life feels like survival mode… or self-trust.

  • 18. Choosing Your Direction for the Year Ahead: Why Intentionality Matters

In this episode, we build on last week’s conversation about laying the foundation for the year ahead and explore what it really means to choose your direction moving forward.

Rather than setting goals or resolutions, this episode focuses on intentionality - what intentional living is, why it matters, and how it shapes not only your long-term vision, but your day-to-day decisions. I also share why intentionality is at the core of my coaching approach and methodology.

I don't know if you have a "word of the year"...but I'm going to share mine, how I came to choose it, and why a word of the year only carries meaning when it’s grounded in intention and action. Rather than being a trend, a word of the year can serve as an anchor - guiding you back to your purpose and the direction you’re choosing throughout the year.

If you have one, please share with me on Instagram or reply to my newsletter! I would love to hear it.

  • 17. The Foundation for the Year Ahead: Building From Within

Download the Recalibrate Your Compass Mini Guide (free)

But before you plan anything, this episode invites you to pause and focus on what actually matters: your relationship with yourself.

In this episode, we explore why real change doesn’t start with morning routines, goal setting, or overhauling your schedule. It starts with self-trust, self-awareness, and the willingness to release beliefs, roles, and environments that are holding you back.

    In this episode, we cover:

    • Why the new year isn’t about becoming more, but about carrying less
    • The importance of self-trust as the foundation for any lasting change
    • Common blocks to forward movement, including beliefs, environment, and self-talk
    • How to audit your life without pressure, perfection, or overwhelm
    • Why you don’t need New Year’s resolutions to create change - and when you can start instead

Whether you’re listening at the start of the year or months into it, this episode reminds you that you can reassess, recalibrate, and begin again at any point. Real momentum comes from alignment — not from forcing yourself into someone else’s version of progress.

The foundation for the year ahead isn’t a better plan.
It’s a stronger relationship with yourself.

  • 16. What Not to Carry Into the New Year (Holiday Survival Guide Series Part 5)

The holidays are over - but the patterns they brought up don’t just disappear on their own.

In this final episode of the Holiday Survival Guide series, we’re not revisiting how to survive family gatherings or manage triggers. Instead, we’re integrating what the holidays revealed... and deciding what you’re no longer carrying into the new year.

Throughout this series, we explored how survival patterns show up during the holidays: losing yourself in family dynamics, stepping into the mediator role, struggling to rest without guilt, and feeling emotionally activated in ways that felt familiar but exhausting. This episode brings all of that awareness together and asks the deeper question:

What are you ready to put down?

This episode is about letting go of roles, beliefs, and reflexes that no longer align with who you’re becoming.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • What the holidays reveal about your core patterns - not as failures, but as information
    • The difference between awareness and integration (and why awareness alone isn’t enough)
    • How to consciously choose what you’re not bringing with you into the new year
    • A simple, grounded way to integrate this awareness without overwhelm, pressure, or self-criticism

Rather than pushing for resolutions or self-improvement, this episode invites you to reflect on what you’re ready to release - the beliefs you’re putting down, the patterns you’re breaking, and the versions of yourself you no longer need to perform.

If the holidays left you feeling drained, relieved, conflicted, or quietly clear, this episode helps you make meaning of that experience - and use it as a turning point instead of another cycle.

You don’t need to add more this coming year.
You just need to carry less.

  • 15. Unexpected Holiday Triggers No One Talks About (Holiday Survival Guide Series Part 4)

Click here to book a free mini session/clarity call with me - a focused 25-minute call where we’ll uncover what’s keeping you stuck, identify your next aligned step, and bring clarity to what healing looks like for you.

In this episode, I break down the unexpected holiday triggers that don’t get talked about enough - and why they can feel so disorienting even after you’ve done a lot of personal growth.

I explore how familiarity can activate old nervous system memory, why being around people who knew an earlier version of you can quietly pull you back into patterns you worked hard to break, and how the holidays compress time in a way that makes your body react before your mind can catch up.

I also explore role reactivation - those moments when you find yourself automatically slipping back into being the mediator, the fixer, or the one managing the emotional temperature of the room - often without anyone asking you to.

This episode is about understanding what’s actually happening in your body when these reactions show up, why it’s not a sign of failure or regression, and how awareness gives you choice in real time.

If the holidays leave you feeling exhausted even when nothing “went wrong,” this episode will help you make sense of why - and offer grounded ways to stay connected to who you are now, without abandoning yourself.

This conversation continues in part five of Sweaters, Soups, and Seasonal Depression Holiday Survival Guide Series. I’ll see you there.

  • 14. Why Rest Feels Unsafe - and How to Finally Slow Down Without Feeling Guilty (Holiday Survival Guide Series Part 3)

Click here to book a free mini session/clarity call with me - a focused 25-minute call where we’ll uncover what’s keeping you stuck, identify your next aligned step, and bring clarity to what healing looks like for you.

This episode explores why rest can feel unsafe - even when you’re exhausted. We break down where this pattern comes from, how tying your worth to productivity wires your nervous system to stay “on,” and why feeling guilty or uncomfortable when you slow down is a completely normal response to survival mode.

You’ll also learn why this pattern intensifies during the holidays, when expectations, emotional labor, and old roles make stillness even harder to access.

By the end of this episode, you'll understand what’s really driving your relationship with rest and how to finally prioritize resting.
