Wendy Anne Steer is a Well-being Alchemist because she has trained in quite a few modalities so they all underpin her knowledge and help her support her clients, signposting them if need be.  She comes from a strong corporate background of Programme and Project Management in IT which proved detrimental to her health so she had to leave her ego behind, take a humbler path and invest in her own healing.

This is part 3 of our series on trauma and I have with me pioneering medical physician Dr Sangeeta Sahi who is the Founder of Unified Human Foundation and Conscious cancer programme.

Dr Sangeeta Sahi is the founder of Unified Human Foundation in the UK, a non-profit organization supporting non-government organisations globally, and which unify human beings with Nature. She has worked for over 20 years in various locations including India, Africa, USA, in projects of developing innovation and natural solutions for environmental, health and cultural as well as community sustainability.

She is also a pioneering medical physician who has been able to combine her formal medical training with a host of complementary therapies, based upon biophysical and quantum physical evidence.

In today episode, I have the podcast host of Candle In A Dark Room, Desi Garcia on my show who shares the story of her life, how she survived trauma & how she lives in recovery today. 

Desi was continuously abused by her stepfather between the ages of 8 to 15, she pressed charges and her perpetrator was convicted though it never kept him away from her when he was released from prison. He continued to stalk Desi, following her to places and the police even found his computer full of images of her, which proved his obscene obsession towards her. 

In this episode, Desi explains how she managed to recover from so many years of abuse and how her trauma empowered her to help other survivors, which she is doing so successfully today.

Shame - Guilt expert Lois Hollis was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1943 and for thirty years, Lois taught hospital staff and nurses how to care for hemodialysis patients both in hospital and home.

Despite her many accomplishments, her abusive childhood traumas began to outweigh her vivacious lifestyle. She succumbed to guilt-ridden depression, heart and liver disease, 30 years of migraine headaches, and structural deformities. Her physicians told her that she could not live past 50 years. After ten years of unsuccessful therapies with traditional medical and psychological professions, she turned to holistic health.

Lois soon discovered that her emotional and physical health intricately weave themselves to produce health or disease. She could not remember her childhood, but soon, she was shocked to learn that her abusive childhood left many scars. She was diagnosed with brain traumas, fractured jaw, broken neck, and congenital heart disease. Since brain traumas cause an increased sensitivity to sunlight, she understood why there was a time she was unable to be in the daylight.

Lois soon learned from her emotions that shame/guilt distorts our biological systems and creates emotional and physical illnesses. Applying the release of shame-guilt from her life, she no longer had lingering depression. She now recognized that shame-guilt were the main offenders of health and wellbeing and that we can stop our struggle with the negativity of low self-esteem, anger, anxiety, and so on, when we address shame-guilt directly. 

Today is an exciting time. Everything is questioned, and new concepts are typical. Now is the time to expose shame-guilt and how changing our shame-guilt system can solve our mental health crisis.

Amiee Boswinkle found her way out of the darkness and into the light when debilitating trauma, PTSD and addictions took over her life and she couldn’t find reprieve from conventional health care or therapies. 

For years, Amiee suffered from the shame of childhood sexual assault which led her down the path of alcoholism, drug addiction and various eating disorders. 

One day she woke up facing the possibility of spending a year in jail after she received her third driving conviction, so she decided something really had to change.
