  • Healing From Within – A Tale of Love that Goes Beyond the Physical
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: DD Marx

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, your host Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit: Answers for Healing and Infinite Love which shares stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication, healing energies, miracles, and ways to go within to discover your true Self, welcomes DD Marx, author of Beyond Believing. As the title suggests, when we take ourselves out of our comfort zone and pre-disposed beliefs we can truly begin to know that experience love and eternal life are not only possible but a reality.

DD will share a romantic story that shows there’s no such thing as Coincidence. DD regards this book as her “love letter to friendship” written in memory of her best friend Dan. In Sheryl’s first book Life Is No Coincidence-The Life and Afterlife Connection Sheryl shares how coincidences and synchronicity changed her long held beliefs about both life and death and how a greater awareness allows for truth and a conquering of limitations and for then enjoying life to its fullest.

DD looks back on her childhood to remember any incident person or place that was meaningful to her and might have been a clue to the values, work and relationships that are important to her now. She tells us that “It is said that she came into this world with the gift of gab.” Your parents quickly identified a pattern forming when at each teacher conference they heard the words…She’s a little too social. Excessive friendliness and joy in experiencing life is not always an educational goal for teachers or perhaps many introverted adults… Still today DD prides herself on maintaining friends from every walk of life in every corner of the country. This is the fuel that fills her tank.

Sheryl says when she was in High School she tried to write some poems and liked to write but never thought she would actually write a book. Now, after writing and publishing two books and working on a third, she realized that from the beginning she had a story hidden in her inner or subconscious being that would be expressed someday. Sheryl believes we actually come into this life with a plan and destiny to share these stories of Spirit. It just has to unfold and be the right time to actually fulfill promises that were made even before we were even born.. In The Living Spirit Sheryl sort of expressed it this way…. “I have found that as I work to expand my understanding of energy and myself, Spirit bequeaths new spiritual gifts and skills that I may incorporate into my work. It has become clear to me that the more I work with the healing energies surrounding me, the more defined my abilities and work become. Constant effort is the only means to develop personal power…..Realizing that my life was the result of my choices as well as the result of the Divine plan I was born with, I have surrendered many of my illusionary fears and asked Spirit to direct and guide me towards the fulfillment of my spiritual purpose. In the process I have encountered many dear souls who I not only love, but feel have been connected to me in previous incarnations.”

DD graduated with a Communication degree from the University of Dayton. DD attempted to break into the world of Public Relations but was sidetracked with a J.O.B. instead. At the encouragement of her friends and family who dubbed her a funny story teller she stretched her comfort zone by entering the Second City program in Chicago and decided to combine her performing talents with writing. In a writing course at her alma mater she was asked to imagine herself as a super-hero and to describe her special power. Based on the real life tragedy of one of her best friends Dan she received her answer immediately….All she wanted was the power to visit with him one Last Time..This is the inspiration that catapulted her into writing Beyond Believing….She simply imaged he never left.

  • Healing From Within – Heaven, Here, There and Not Far Away
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: Dr. Susan Allison

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, your host Sheryl Glick Reiki Master Teacher/medium author of The Living Spirit which shares stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication, healing energies, miracles and ways to go within to discover the infinite potential of your divine nature brought into your physical life, welcomes for a third time on the show, Dr. Susan Allison. Dr. Susan Allison shares her insights into the world of energy and continuous life in her newest book You Don’t Have to Die to Go To Heaven which shares her discovery that there is no death, we are all immortal and our departed loved ones are fine.

Dr. Susan Allison who is a therapist with a doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology works with individuals and groups using traditional as well as hypnosis process therapy shamanic journey and energy medicine and today shares her ideas on the afterlife rebirth and the wisdom of the ages. She is the author of 5 books including Empowered Healer Our Spirits Dance and Conscious Divorce.

Susan has an endorsement for her book from Alberto Villoldo author of A Shamans Miraculous Tools for Healing and he states…. “We can map our destiny consciously in this lifetime and the next!” Sheryl and Susan who in meditation and deep self investigation have transcended time and space at times to travel and visit this higher world of energy and light, let us know that by bringing back information and wisdom from this Higher Conscious View of Life we enhance our values and create or manifest our best life and version of ourselves which will allow us to design our next reality.

There were events that led Susan to write her newest book You Don’t Have to Die to Go to Heaven such as the loss of her partner and beloved friend …This book is dedicated to Susan’s husband Thomas Hansen Hickenbottom who inspired her when they spent nineteen years together and who inspires her now. It is also dedicated to her children and grandchildren, ancestors and all the loving spirit beings that have supported her.

Sheryl shares with Susan the beauty of being able to receive information for her clients in a spiritual reading and says, “It is always my great pleasure to share a reading with my clients and a great gift to feel the connection and love they share with their loved ones in Spirit.…one of the joys of reaching up to that higher level of Consciousness and life is to walk in the peace and wisdom that can be experienced when free of the body and physical limitations. These readings often validate and reinforce a person’s sense of interconnectedness to their relatives, knowing nothing is lost, and to help them live life more fully while still on the Earth Plane. As we are in a remarkable spiritual evolution right now, more and more people will experience being close to loved ones who have transitioned and know, whether in a body or not, they are alive. We are not our bodies, but an infinite force of creative energy, experiencing life in many arena’s for soul development.”

Through Shamanic Trance, dreams, deep Meditation, experiences with gurus, guides, divine teachers and loved ones—in essence our Soul Group we begin to be able to explore these realms of energy and life beyond a physical manifestation of life.

Sheryl wonders if Susan was aware of the Spirit World or our true nature as Spiritual Beings having a physical life before the loss of her husband Thomas. While Susan was always connected to the Spiritual field even as a child, she tells us, “Writing this book has been part of my recovery and going into trance and shamanic journeying to receive help from my spirit guides actually allows me to spend time with my husband in a level of heaven. The energy between us is alive and our infinite spirits can commune in a heavenly world. He is immortal.

  • Healing From Within – How, When and Why we may talk to Aliens?
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: Nancy Du Tertre

In today’s episode of Healing from Within, your host Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit which shares stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication, healing energies, miracles and ways to go within to discover and develop your highest sense of Intuition is most delighted to welcome Nancy Du Tertre author of How to Talk to An Alien. Nancy is a psychic/spiritual medium, a trained remote viewer and urology expert and her predictions and research into connecting with ET’s have emerged from her own UFO/alien experiences resulting in a new field of extraterrestrial communication.

Nancy and Sheryl will discuss how we must learn to respect all life forms and work cooperatively with all life forms. In 2013 Nancy says one poll showed that nearly half of all Americans believe UFO’s may be a sign of extraterrestrial visitation: another 10 percent of Americans claim to have actually witnessed an actual UFO, while yet 2.9 million Americans believe they had actually been abducted by aliens. Nancy Du Tertre a securities litigation attorney and trained psychic detective and remote viewer has the skills to open up an important discussion on how we will receive and communicate with intelligent life forms when the time arrives. Nancy were apprenticed to a well known psychic detective for a decade and worked with law enforcement and victim’s family to insure justice. Her education and training are exceptional.

Nancy describes an alien encounter she had while with her daughter when they both saw a large circular ship with orange lights above them on the roadway which piqued her curiosity and began her extensive research into alien events. Many years later she describes another quite unusual event and wrote… “While in my red Honda 5 blocks from home parked and waiting for a friend a large fierce somewhat Reptilian alien hopped in my car. The alien looked with a deep and penetrating gaze and it was clear he had locked on to my brain waves. I panicked but then had a different thought..I’m a trained psychic and concentrated in creating a giant electrical ball of plasma and shot this through our mutually locked brain waves…this burst of energy broke the connection. Whether this was a dream or some other level of reality in which I met an alien I am not sure but one thing was clear. WE humans can successfully take the power back… in fact we can help to develop our telepathic and intuitive skills to control our environment handle intruders and definitely improve health and yes, become more specially attuned to energy and Universal Laws which is necessary for our evolution and success.”

Sheryl Says…… “As a medium and Reiki energy practitioner I find that often our abilities or interests evolve over time and we are guided into many different roles and situations according to a fine tuned plan by Universal Source or Universe for our personal and collective growth and so we learn to say “Yes” to new opportunities as we forge forward to develop magnificent useful new spiritual gifts and evolve.”

It is relevant to learn how to talk to an alien as Nancy tells us for many reasons. It would indeed be wise to be polite as either they’ve never been here before and you are a diplomat to show the best of hospitality, or they have been here since the dawn of mankind and we might want to show them we are not still as primitive while also assuring them there is hope for us to learn to master our emotional landscape, change negative emotions and violent behaviors as humans have been known to display throughout time. If aliens can shut down our nuclear missile defense systems and power plants as described by Robert Salas author of The UFO Phenomenon and violate our commercial and military airspace and abduct people from their bedrooms, we need to know their intentions and learn if possible to work with them as we must with all t...

  • Healing From Within – Music Inspired From Above
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: David Young

In today Healing From Within, your host Sheryl Glick an intuitive healer medium and author of The Living Spirit, welcomes David Young , author of Channeling Harrison, who provides the Most Heavenly Music on Earth as he shares how synchronicity faith and destiny propelled him forward to live a life of sharing the magic of life through his music and books.

David will share his musical journey and spiritual awakening process and as I feel all great art is inspired by a powerful higher Universal Energy we may come to see how synchronicity talent hard work and faith led to David Young, musician, producer, artist to become one of the most successful independent artists of his time.

David’s musical experience began in California after getting several jaywalking tickets, a speeding ticket and needing money to pay the fines and with 100 dollars left to his name, David moved out of his apartment and into a friend’s place and was desperate. Earlier that month, he met a girl who played the harp at Venice Beach and invited David to play with her. Soon there was a huge crowd and money was raining down into our basket…..They both recorded a tape and called our music Celestial Winds and sold them at the beach. Later they were sold at festivals all over the country.

Sheryl wonders how being a middle child may have influenced why he began to play two flutes at once. David says, “People were saying, ‘Oh look at that beautiful girl playing the harp’ and he felt invisible which drove him nuts…David was always the lead singer and lead guitarist of his bands and had always been at the center of attention and ALSO was a middle child often who look either for attention or are overachievers. After a couple of months of playing the same 8 or 9 songs about 30 times a day she was still getting all the attention so David began to play the 2 flutes at once and then got ALL the attention.”

David started playing the recorder in the 3rd or 4th grade..Sheryl says she began in College as it was required for a major in education and for becoming a teacher.. Sheryl says, “I was awful at it too. Even though I love music, singing off key and dancing in my own way.” You say by the second year you figured out how to play by ear while listening to the radio….Sheryl Says I am always amazed that people who don’t read music like my grandmother but played the piano beautifully.

David describes his music sounding like elements of Cat Stevens, John Mellencamp and Jethro Tull. Great Music is timeless. Cat Stevens makes you feel and think about life. John Mellencamp writes about our culture and it makes you want to move and have fun. Jethro Tull is instantly recognizable because he plays the flute and there’s not many flute players in rock and roll. David says he doesn’t actually play the flute, it’s a renaissance flute called a recorder.

David wrote a song that Sheryl believes speaks for all of us and our search for Truth…The song is I’m still Missing You.

I wish I really knew what life was all about

Why some people have so much and others live without

I wish I had a dream that really did come true

But I really wish I knew why I’m still missing you

I wish I really knew why this world has so much pain.

Why we live and why we die and then do it all again.

And if I ever understand all the struggles I’ve been through,

Then maybe I’ll understand why I’m still missing you

I wish I really knew why so many people cry,

Oh I wish that I could sing the world a lullaby,

If we helped one person, the good that we could do

And then maybe I’d find a way to stop missing you.

Sheryl says, “For me, that song expresses my journey and search for knowing who we are and discovering ...

  • Healing From Within – The Changing Face of Religion and Hip Hop in Contemporary Society
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: Dr. Monica Miller

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, your host Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit: Answers for Healing and Infinite Love which shares stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication Universal healing energies, miracles and offers ways to go “within” to find your authentic Self and to further improve your spiritual and physical realities, welcomes Dr. Monica Miller who in her new book Religion In Hip Hop explores the changing face of religion in today’s culture by researching the odd, deviant and outcast of our society to show us how religion is being remade in certain segments of the population.

Dr. Miller will share her insights into the topic of religion, youth culture, and Hip Hop exploring data from controversial events like recent text by rappers who fashion their books after bibles, dance subcultures and analysis on the declining significance of churches among youth- offering a bold proclamation that what we think is religious isn’t so religious, after all, suggesting we must begin again. Dr. Miller is serves as a professor at Lehigh University and is co-founder of the first ever American Academy of Religion Group on Hip Hop…Critical Approaches to the Study of Hip Hop and Religion.

No stranger to the odd deviant and outcast, Dr Monica Miller turned her passion for understanding all things “marginal and pop” into a lifelong career of researching some of the most pressing social issues today. Breaking the mold on traditional scholarship and the look of a scholar she is emerging as the voice for understanding the once deemed strange relationship between the sacred and the profane… Miller’s work shows how moralizing stereotypes of Hip Hop and Youth Gone Wild have everything to do with social cultural and political interests rooted in the struggle for and over meaning and power.

Monica says she never imagined herself a scholar in religion…in fact she wanted to be a lawyer and when an undergraduate became very interested in human behavior and exploring why people do, think and choose the way they do in the world…. What influences people to believe certain things even in cases where there remains little tangible evidence…What drives people to ask the big questions of life?...These questions led Monica to the study of religion theology and philosophy….what she was really grappling with is the ways in which ideology past and present functions in society.

Sheryl says “It sounds much like me …I thought I’d be a lawyer instead I married one and became more active in answering the big questions of life that some people never even contemplate… As a child I felt that the religious institutions were functioning from old belief systems and were rigid and unchanging and I felt that a personal connection with God or Spirit was perhaps a more worthwhile and empowering process …but of course it took me a long time to realize that my sensitivities to energy, people, places, and my heightened intuition was the way for me to make this personal connection to source… I was simply too taken in by the patterns and socialization process of my family and educational background. Later on during an awakening process stimulated by my growing dissatisfaction with the state of the world, I began to notice coincidences and synchronicity which lead me to a study of psychics, mediums, energy healing and spiritual communication allowing for the development of my natural spiritual gifts. Wishing to share the extraordinary knowledge that we are spiritual beings having a physical life and as such, have unlimited potential to manifest and create either our best reality or our worst…the choices is ours I devoted time to teaching Reiki energy healing and the development of mediumship abilities to interested students.”

Sheryl asks Monica her motivation for working with co-authors to write her newest bo...

  • Healing From Within – Invitation to Happiness
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: Mia Tomikawa

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, your host, Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit which shares stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication, healing energies, miracles and ways to recognize your true human and spiritual potential to achieve a purposeful life journey. Sheryl welcomes Mia Tomikawa who is a United States spokesperson for Invitation to Happiness written by spiritual leader and author Ryuho Okawa founder of a world-wide organization “Happy Science” for personal development One purpose of this philosophy is to awaken participants to find joy and love for life by connecting with that inner voice, spirit, soul or higher self.

Mia and Sheryl will discover a new sense of Self and discuss practical tools for creating new habits for a more carefree grounded and spiritual life through 7 inspirations or themes which will guide you to “the angel within”, the force that supports everyone to become courageous inspired and true to themselves.

Ryuho Okawa is a spiritual leader and author in Japan with a simple goal.. “To help people find true happiness and create a better world”. His books have sold over 100 million worldwide and been translated into 27 languages and address vital issues such as how our thoughts influence reality, the nature of love and the path to enlightenment.

In regard to happiness or suffering, each person of course makes their own choice. Many choose to blame circumstances or other people for any setback or challenge but it is our perceptions and realization that our thoughts and actions direct and encourage many events that happen in our lives. Sheryl feels very much like Ryuho Okawa in regard to the personal power we all possess and how we can align to our higher self to support a healthy happy life.

In reference to this, in her book, The Living Spirit, Sheryl expressed happiness this way, “Since I receive intuitive messages for my clients, many people ask me, How can I find peace and happiness in my life. This is the answer I give: Before there can be peace and happiness in a person’s life, and in the world, every person must be responsible to do their own work acknowledging what may need to change within their attitudes or actions so they may better relate to the outer world. Finding true happiness and joy is the natural outcome of self-investigation. There are no short cuts and no one can make you happy or unhappy unless you give them the power to do that by surrendering or giving away your personal power.”

Mia tells us that each one of us has an inner angel who is our guide to happiness. “There are rare moments in life when just the right answer or idea comes to us from out of nowhere at just the right time. Your inner angel is not a completely separate being but actually a part of your soul. You can also call this spiritual existence your subconscious. The consciousness of your physical self does not represent all of your soul but only a part of it. The rest of your soul remains in the other world as the subconscious. Just as a flower is made up of several petals, your soul is made up of six individual energies. You, the person living on earth now, are like one petal of a flower. Your inner angel guides and protects you from heaven as another petal of the flower that makes up your soul.”

Ryuho Okawa writes, “Life in this world is every soul’s opportunity for development, and each one of us is responsible for learning from our experiences. This is why heavenly spirits are not allowed to take complete control over our lives and live them on our behalf, as if we were only puppets. We all have to lead our own lives, but our angels also do whatever they can to influence things to our advantage. Your guardian angel helps you by sending inspiration at important turning points in your life.

  • Healing From Within – An Awakened Life of Love
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: Master Charles Cannon

In today’s episode of “Healing From Within”, your host Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit which shares stories of spiritual awakenings spiritual communication healing miracles and ways to know your human and divine potential, welcomes Master Charles Cannon who has been a guest on the show previously and rejoins us today to discuss his newest book Living an Awakened Life: The Lessons of Love.

Master Charles Cannon, who is a modern spiritual teacher and the founder of Synchronicity Foundation for Modern spirituality will discuss his high-tech meditation and holistic lifestyle experience.

Master Cannon, says American philosopher David Abram wrote.. “The ecological crisis may be the result of a recent and collective perceptual disorder in our species, a unique form of myopia which it now forces us to correct. And a traditional Native American prayer…Give us the wisdom to teach our children in love to respect and be kind to one another so that we may grow with peace in mind. Learning to love is the answer that has eluded us. This is what develops peace in the mind, which leads to a fundamentally different attitude towards the earth… To begin a new more noble chapter in human history we begin with a respect for life. In fact that’s a clue about love’s true nature; its accepting and inclusive…God loves indiscriminately and one of his most courageous prophets said…”whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me…that’s worth remembering next time we withhold our love from someone we’ve judged unworthy.

In Sheryl’s book, The Living Spirit she addresses the need for people to truly discover who they are as spiritual beings having a physical life and write….. “We all can walk in the world of Spirit and at the same time have a foot touching the ground of this world. This can be done by recognizing the gifts and blessings of life itself and your life in particular. All great masters—St Francis of Assisi, Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and others have learned to quiet the drives and cravings of the physical body long enough to free the mind. In doing so, they were able to awaken to inner peace and to messages being given to them from Spirit. Through this connection they learned how to improve the quality of their daily lives, as well as how to engage others with empathy, love, compassion and kindness.”

Master Charles Cannon poses a question in regard to life in these modern times and also addresses the differences from past eras. He says, “They are many offered to address everything from curing physical diseases to fighting terrorism. But when it comes to personal stress management we are told simply to unplug. Take a break from computer, texting and retreat from busyness into silence…That used to work back when life was simple and the earth was sparsely populated…but fast forward to the 21st century, 7 billion people endless expanses of concrete and steel and electromagnetic pollution and it becomes difficult…Unplugging from technology is now impossible. We’ve learned to filter out nature and that world of Spirit or magnificent creating. SO PLUG INTO THIS WORLD WE’VE NEGLECTED THAT LIVES AROUND AND WITHIN US TO DISTANT STARS..THE UNIVERSAL ONENESS OF BEING- Be connected not separate from your true nature and source.”

Living an Awakened Life is set up with a series of 52 explorations providing a focus of inspiration and motivation week by week throughout the year and is also segmented into the four seasons, framed with the solstice and equinox which are particularly significant pivot dates in the annual calendar.

Master Charles Cannon is about to discover a fundamentally different definition and articulation of love. True love is more than emotion, more than romance. It is the truth of who you innately are.

  • Healing From Within – The Journey of the Spiritual Seeker-Symbols of the Unconscious
    Host: Sheryl Glick R.M.T.
    Special Guest: Greg Bogart

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, your host Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit: Answers for Healing and Infinite Love which shares amazing stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication, healing energies, miracles and ways to go within to find your authentic self, welcomes Greg Bogart author his newest book Dreamwork and Self-Healing. Greg is a psychotherapist in private practice in the San Francisco Bay area and a lecturer in the department of Psychology at Sonoma State University, California.

Greg will help us explore the work of Freud and Jung and show how analytic work must balance the dream with transference. We will discuss how Jungian dream work can be applied effectively in brief-term and long-term therapy, couples counseling, group process work, and as a catalyst for personal transformation. Properly understood dreams enhance the dialogue between the therapist and patient about specific problems in living and add to the growth of the patient’s self understanding. We can see that dreams reveal both the source of our wounding and paths to healing.

The function of a typical dream is to cope with difficult situations such as the end of a relationship, loss of a loved one, and the healing of childhood wounds. Dreams are potent catalysts of change. Their luminous images ignite the light of consciousness within us and become a source of energy and guidance: an axis of spiritual sanity. Dreams are transformative when utilized in psychotherapy or by couples and friends who work with dreams together to assist and support one another and to enhance their knowing of one another. Dreams are healing symbols of the unconscious or in Sheryl’s estimation of the inner or soul essence. They make emotionally charged material accessible to consciousness quickly and safely and provide clues to the origins of symptoms and core life issues. They have a unique capacity to promote healing from within.

Sheryl relates a story to Greg about a dream she once had and says “I always thought dreams were the way to work through the challenges or miscommunications of the day but I came to know another kind of dream. About 20 years ago I was very sick with the flu and while I was in a fitful sleep felt an energy or shadow on my right side…It was my grandfather who was in Spirit for about 30 years and he said to me, “ You have to write something for your father.” I woke up and was confused as I had not had a dream about my grandfather before nor was I particularly thinking of him at that time. The next day my mom called and said my Dad had passed and without putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, I simply wrote my Dad’s eulogy…Years later in reading a book by a medium I discovered that I had a spiritual visitation not a dream….”

Both Freud and Jung believed in the value of working with dreams. They viewed dream interpretation as a primary tool for psychotherapy and a source of transformative insights that breathe life into the therapeutic process. Therapeutic attitude seeks healing and emotional truth. Dreams are like icebergs rising out of the deep waters of the unconscious..Some refer to the past helping us understand early traumas and undigested memories (retrospective). Some are integrative and enable us to perceive and reconcile our many conflicting feelings and sub-personalities. Some are prospective or anticipatory harbingers of the future depicting what is emerging and what we have the potential to become. Looking backward and forward simultaneously the dreams function is to expand the aperture of consciousness and our sphere of identity.

Greg relates that the dream Sheryl talked about was prospective in terms of anticipating a future event and helping Sheryl to move forward in her own exploration of healing and developing latent gifts in the years following this dream.

  • Healing From Within – Overcome Stress Anxiety Depression
    Host: Sheryl Glick

    Guest: Mary Heath
In today’s episode of “Healing From Within”, your host Sheryl Glick author of The Living Spirit: Answers for Healing and Infinite Love which shares stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication, healing energies, miracles and ways to go within to find your Higher Self, welcomes Mary Heath author of Get Your Life Back, a book which can help readers step out of the stress cycle and regain balance in their lives.

Mary Heath, who has 30 years experience in the Private Sector and the British National Health System as a Stress Management Consultant and is a trained Yoga teacher who has embraced other therapies such EFT- Emotional Freedom Technique.. CBT- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and NLP- Neuro Linguistic programming and energy field healing will show how building awareness through mindfulness can help us understand what causes stress, how to handle it and find solutions for managing anxiety and panic attacks.

Since we are not born with stress, anxiety or depression, why do so many people suffer the unpleasant symptoms. Mary suggests that we live in a very fast changing technological world today and stress war disease and other problems are rampant creating an unstable environment and elevated levels of unrest in the body and mind. Life and the ups and downs and strains allow us to collect as it is said…BAGGAGE… that can weigh heavily on our bodies hearts and minds…. Anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, depression, fear and anger, low confidence, and disorders such as OCD and Phobias are exaggerated by these challenging events. It is estimated that between 75% and 90% patients visiting their doctors are suffering from stress related ailments leading to conditions such as headaches, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, arthritis and digestive and skin problems. A great deal of research has now proven and it is now recognized that the mind and body are not 2 separate entities but the body and mind are ONE.

Mary wrote “Many people think that stress is not a mental health condition and in many cases it isn’t. It is perfectly normal to feel stressed at the end of a busy working day and if after some rest relaxation and a good night’s sleep you recover and have little or no problem doing it all over again, that is normal. However, when stress turns into something that completely overwhelms you and you begin to suffer physical mental and emotional symptoms that don’t get better, then it becomes more serious. For example Depression often starts at a young age and affects women more commonly than men. One to two out of ten mothers have depression after childbirth and this affects the person with depression and affects their loved ones as well. Almost 1 million people worldwide take their lives each year. Suicide rates have increased over 60 percent over the last 45 years. Suicide occurs across all ages and in 2012 was the second largest global cause of death among 15 to 29 year olds.”

Mary describes her own experience with post-natal depression at the age of 23 after the birth of her first child. “It was quite severe and debilitating, I did eventually recover but continued to suffer occasional mild bouts of depression. When I had my second baby I suffered post-natal depression again. It wasn’t quite as bad but it went on for a long time and although I continued to take medication it didn’t help at all. I also suffered quite a few physical and psychological problems most of which were diagnosed as psychosomatic illnesses…illnesses of the mind..Trying to hide how I felt from my family put even more pressure on me. I wrongly assumed that it was best to keep as much to myself as possible. Of course looking back now I recognize that my body was reacting to the stress that I wasn’t dealing with either mentally or emotionally. One day when I was feeling low and in despair a concerned friend suggested that I start t...

  • Healing From Within – Conscious Being – Your True Nature
    Host: Sheryl Glick

    Guest: TJ Woodward

In today’s episode of “Healing From Within”, your host Sheryl Glick, Reiki /energy practitioner-teacher/medium and author of The Living Spirit, shares intimate stories of spiritual awakenings, spiritual communication healing energies, miracles and ways to go within to access intuition and Self. Sheryl welcomes TJ Woodward author of Conscious Being, a compelling resource for those seeking self-actualization and a connection to a natural condition that many people are now becoming aware actually exists within each of us.

TJ Woodward shows us how the circumstances of our lives and what we call reality are created by our level of consciousness. We will discuss methods for unlearning and releasing self limiting beliefs/ the illusion of ego, so we can come into alignment with an existence overflowing with compassion love and purposes. TJ Woodward is a spiritual author, speaker, awakening coach and addiction counselor and the founder of Awakened Living in San Francisco. He is also the host of Awakened Living TV and Awakened Living Radio.

TJ was very impressed and moved by his friend, Mary Helen.

    Mary Helen’s Seven Spiritual Truths are;

    There’s nothing “wrong” with you
There’s only one of us here
The only prayer is thank you
    God is within you
Nothing outside of you needs to change
Everyone is perfect, just as they are
We’re not here to get good…only to become real

A beautiful quote which reflects TJ’s journey and wisdom is:

If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself.
If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate
all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift
you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.”
    — Lao TsuIf

TJ listened to his inner-knowing and set out on a course of spiritual exploration. During those times, his spiritual path took him to the highest highs, and the lowest lows. TJ has been driven from “Darkness
to light; from shame to acceptance; separation to oneness; and ultimately to an indescribable sense of personal freedom. After many years of clinging and aversion, I find myself today resting in a greater reality; a deeper experience of joy than I ever knew possible. It has delivered me to this moment and a profound understanding of my true purpose.”

TJ writes, “When I was in my late 30s, I lost everything I had worked so hard to achieve. Without much warning, everything I had strived for and accumulated was gone. Despite feeling devastated, one of the gifts of this experience was that I no longer had anything left to lose. Therefore I had no reason to fear loss of anything. From this experience, I was able to separate out my true self from my material possessions and from the circumstances of my life. I was aware of the “I” that did not change when everything around me completely changed, I decided that if I were going to rebuild my life, I was going to do it from the inside out, not the outside in. I knew that everything outside of me could be taken away in an instant. I had to find a way of recognizing my true foundation. In his book, The Second Book of the Tao, Stephen Mitchell states, “The master knows that in looking forward there are endless possibilities, but looking backwards, there’s only one.” The truth of this statement became vividly clear to me when I was no longer identified with the things that change in my life.”

Sheryl Says “In terms of loss many people fear change and loss…loss of a loved one, loss of a home loss of a job or ability but in truth there never is loss, only an opportunity to remember yourself, and experiences to refine and enlarge your awareness.”

Oprah wrote… “All of life is energy and we are transmitting every moment.
