Healthy eating vs disordered eating. When do healthy habits become unhealthy? Signs you need to look out for

In this week’s episode, I talk about the difference between striving towards a healthy goal and disordered eating. The line between the two can be often become blurred, so this episode dives into the different ways that we can identify when healthy habits start to become unhealthy by jeopardising our physical and mental wellbeing.

  • The line between flexible and rigid eating and why this is different for everyone (7:16)

  • Fears around goal setting. Can you set goals without jeopardising your mental health and wellbeing? (13:00)

  • Personality traits that carry a lower risk of disordered eating with rigid eating habits (21:05) 
  • Building confidence in your own decision-making regarding online health advice (22:05)
  • I share an activity to help you identify the health habits that make you feel good and the ones that promote anxiety or other negative thoughts and emotions (23:35)
  • Food rules. Are they beneficial or do they promote disordered eating? (25:10)
  • Signs your health journey isn’t so healthy (29:00)
