A bit about our guest:

Both Carrie and I have been practicing Midwives for years. We’ve practiced in various settings able to glean knowledge and skills while in all of them. We met at Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin and connected immediately. Both of us have similar practice styles and fully honor the process of pregnancy and birth.

When the pandemic began, we slowly started to feel the pull to move out of the mainstream medical system. We believe there are countless, beautiful reasons to birth at home without a global pandemic going on, but through the changes that COVID brought, it really became apparent to us that birth should not be done with limited family or birth support in attendance, mandatory testing, or masking.

It was an easy transition to come together and create a private midwifery and women’s health practice. We both enjoy the many benefits that a dual midwife practice offers and know that our clients benefit from both of our unique approaches, experiences, and personalities. We love getting to know families while supporting them through such a truly miraculous journey. We understand how important it is to be informed, empowered, and supported in your choices. It is amazing to witness an expecting mom bloom in the care of loving, experienced midwives who listen and respect her choices.

We are honored to practice evidence-based care and utilize shared decision-making while providing an environment of safety and respect for all families. Not only are we deeply passionate about birth but we are also inspired by a functional medicine approach and getting to the root of women’s health concerns. We are so excited to offer functional medicine, holistic hormone care, and functional medicine support for women both in and out of pregnancy - something that is a rarity in our country today.

A bit about Melissa

In 2009 Melissa Rose started her business, The Dancing House  in the basement of her home. There she taught the art of dance to students of all ages while her babies were right along with her in the pack and play.  With passion, resilience, and tenacity - she created a business that has become "The Highlight of Your Week" for her tribe, her team and her community.

Along with running a successful brick and mortar business and an online dance membership called Dance on Demand,  Melissa is also a visibility coach for brick + mortar studio businesses focusing on SEO. Guiding other boss ladies to a flourishing business that provides well for their own tribe - creating a legacy for themselves, their family and their community.

When not inspiring or empowering, Melissa is a super mama of five kiddos, enjoys long hikes (without her kids) and playing in her garden.
