My relationship to my body has not always been a good one. In fact, for many years, I had a TERRIBLE relationship to my body. I hated my body, I abused my body, I talked down to my body.....just like so many of us do. Performing has always been one of my greatest fears in my dance career. I have experienced severe stage fright and anxiety as long as I can remember....but this past weekend, I really allowed myself to use my fear as fuel. I performed a Burlesque routine to "Trouble" by Elvis Presley in the Danceclub Asheville Showcase, and I have truly never felt more like my highest self. The fear of being seen is something that so many of us struggle with, but if we were just able to look beyond our temporary fear and see the power in stepping out of our comfort zone....we could have so many magical experiences and exponential growth in our lives.
