In this episode of The Herbalist Hour I'm joined by Rosemary Gladstar.

She has been such an inspiration to my herbal journey over the years, so I felt incredibly honored to have her on the show.

In this conversation we chat about cooperation versus competition in the herbal community, honoring your elders, her new podcast, the origins of the Breitenbush Herbal Conference, advice for living a good life and a whole lot more.

This interview took place at the 2023 Great Lakes Herb Faire.

If you love herbalism podcasts, which I'm guessing you do, please SUBSCRIBE to Rosemary's new show.

It's called "Voices of Our Herbal Elders". Simply search for it in your podcast player of choice.

They're sharing incredible stories from some of the most beloved teachers in the herbal community.

Immense gratitude to Rosemary for taking the time to join me on the show, and thanks to you, dear listener, for tuning in!

In this episode of The Herbalist Hour I'm joined by Ash Ritter.

Ash is a west coast born, desert-dwelling ethnobotanist, educator, writer, multi-disciplinary animist, and poet in disguise as herbalist. For twenty years and counting, Ash continues to reverently devote her life to fungal & botanical studies, encompassing traditional, academic, clinical, and directly relational terrains.

Her approach places emphasis on plants, fungi, and planet as relations, and is manifested through her practice as fostering engagement with & as the living world, rather than "using" plants as commodity. She counsels & creates in her private practice, Black Sage Botanicals.

In this episode we discuss the Solanaceae plant family, her herbal origins, what a psychonaut is, making herbal candy and a whole lot more.

THIS PODCAST IS MEANT FOR EDUCATIONAL AND ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!

I had a great time chatting it up with Ash and getting to know her story.

Sajah Popham and the School of Evolutionary Herbalism just dropped lesson 2 in their free Vitalist Herbalism Mini-course! It's called The Holistic Intake Roadmap. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

It's an an hour and thirteen minutes and is jam-packed with all sorts of tidbits for the herbalist, especially if you're looking into seeing clients.

Sajah teaches us his three frameworks for how he does a holistic client intake and interview.

This includes:

The 5 layers of communication that you need to have when talking to clients

The 5 internal states you must have yourself (comes with a PDF as well)

Learn what the acronym OPQRST stands for. *hint, this was a huge turning point for Sajah's own client intakes (also a part that I found really fascinating).

Sajah is a wonderful teacher, I've had the pleasure of taking classes with him at various conferences over the years and always come away inspired!

If you're considering taking on clients as an herbalist, lesson 2 is a must!

Also, if you missed lesson 1, "Allopathic vs. Vitalist Herbalism" CLICK HERE.

These lessons are only available for a limited time!

Lesson 3 will be released next week :)

Enjoy,

Mason www.herbrally.com

This episode of The Herbalist Hour is a super special one! On our way back from a wedding, we were able to swing through Seattle and hang out with rapper Torin Frost.

For those of you that don't know, Torin is the creator of The Herbalist Hour theme song. He did an incredible job with it, so I asked him some questions about his inspiration for the song.

We also talk a lot about his debut mixtape that just dropped called "The Drip of the Iceberg".

LISTEN ON SPOTIFY

Later in the conversation Torin starts freestyle rapping about a few of our favorite plant allies!

He's an incredibly talented artist, a super funny guy, and a humble and kind soul doing great work in this world.

I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did, and please go give his mixtape a listen if you're a hip hop head like me.

Until the next episode,

~Mason PS - You can also watch this interview on our YouTube channel.
