Homo Superior Podcast

The boys recap the penultimate episode of WandaVision (S1E8); talk about Cable's comic and Comic Con getting cancelled; Ta-Nehisi Coates is working on a new Superman film; Clarke's Got Sumpin' Watch Out it's for TV; and the issues: Hellions #10, Demon Days X-Men #1, KIB: Thunderbolts #3, and KiB: Wiccan & Hulkling #1. How do we get one of those champagne bots?

The boys, along with special guest and returning DC SuperFan Jeff LaMarca, go deep on Infinite Frontier #0 and discuss the issue itself, the new (nostalgic?) world it sets up, and also play "Hot or Not" with its parallel sister series, Future State. Take a listen!

The boys highlight some of their favorite graphic novels by Black authors (Protip: Read "Hacker of Dreams", "Far Sector", "Why I Hate Saturn", and "Upgrade Soul" asap!); find out it was Agatha All Along in WandaVision S1E7; catch up with the Children of the Vault in X-Men 18 and discuss what life would be like if we locked 3,000 people away for 6,000 years; more issues with New Mutants 16 and Wolverine 10; get into new release dates and announcements for Marvel, Disney, and Nickelodeon; and realize their recording strategy is not exactly efficient. Enjoy!

The boys kick off a new series: Class-X! In it, they do a deep dive on the comics, movies, and TV to catch you up on everything you need to now before they come back in some new format. It's like Sparknotes for your ears. Today, they're looking at the Children of the Vault, a group of posthumans and occasional thorn in the side of the X-men. Let us know what you think!

The boys pay tribute to Milestone Comics; talk about what's next for WandaVision after S1E6; they get some 90s vibes from the first Mortal Kombat trailer; Constantine is getting a reboot; Wonder Girl isn't going to be picked up by the CW; Cara Dune won't be replaced; Clarke's Got Sumpin Golden; there's some comic news; and the Issues: Marauders #18, Cable #8, X-Men Legends #1, King in Black #4, Guardians #11, and Thor #12. They get mad repetitive on this one.

The boys talk about the brilliant sci-fi graphic novel The Kill Lock written and drawn by Livio Ramondelli. It's got robots, it's got religion, and it's got killing. It's also a quick, but satisfying read so even if you don't listen to this episode, you should check it out.

The boys continue Black History Month by talking about some of their favorite Black comic book characters and where you can find stories about them; they talk about the big reveals in WandaVision (S1E6); there's a ton of news including: comic news, the new writer for Blade (2022 film), further allegations against Joss Whedon, and Gina Carano's firing; Clarke's Got Sumpin' and it's a little Valentines-y; and the issues: SWORD #3, X-Force #17, Excalibur #18, King in black: Thunderbolts #1, and Eternals #2. It's crazy, but a good crazy.

The boys kick of Black History Month by talking about the contributions of some of their favorite Black creators/producers in TV, comics, and movies; they get into their favorite Easter eggs for WandaVision (S1E4); there's news about the upcoming Kingdom of Wakanda Disney+ series, anti-semitism in Immortal Hulk, casting announcements for Sandman, Thor revelations; Clarke's Got Sumpin', Watch Out!; and the issues: X-Factor #7, Hellions #9, Marauders: King in Black crossover #1, King in Black: Black Knight #1, and Venom #33. As always it's that delightful wintry mix of thoughtful discussion, comedy, and rampant explicit sexual chatter.

The boys celebrate the return of their favorite member: Brent.

"He's the best. Perfection." - Khelan

"I would kill myself if Brent had to miss one more second of Homo Superior." - Adam

"RYAN KR-AUW-LL" - Ryan Krull

"Brent coming back makes me the happiest I've ever been." - Clarke

Also they talk about the X-men election processes, WandaVision S1E3, and they come up with some advertisements or whatever.

The boys make peer into the potential Multiverse with Wandavision Ep 1 + 2, cover this week's comics, and talk shit on dumb mash-up comic ideas. Clarke also takes us through the world's most interesting icebreaker personality test.
