Port Adelaide Enfield has Defence Force contracts totaling $89 billion scheduled to last for over 40 years, as well as a $535 million upgrade to the Osborne Naval Shipyard and a new rail spur to link the Port’s commercial centre and the Dock One residential precinct to the Adelaide CBD

These and several smaller projects are creating much-needed jobs, turning historic Port Adelaide into a thriving residential, commercial and tourist destination.

This Local Government Area has a number of small suburbs with affordable prices and rising sales volumes. The uplift in market activity, revealed in the Winter edition of The Price Predictor Index, has elevated the status of Port Adelaide-Enfield to become the most active market in the South Australian capital.

Noel Whittaker is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected experts on finance and investment. In a recent newspaper column he urged property investors to stop reading newspaper headlines and tuning in to media generally, as it is presenting investors with misleading information about real estate markets. Australia continues to under-rate the Adelaide property market.

This is largely through a failure to understand the improvements in the South Australian economy and the pipeline of major events which will drive demand for residential real estate. The Adelaide market is highly active and producing stronger price growth than the generalised growth data suggests. Overall we see Adelaide as being worthy of consideration by investors, especially from the viewpoint of affordability and value for money.
