Hound Dog Podcast Network by The Sportsmen's Empire

The Hound World seems so vast, but in reality, it’s a small tight-knit community.   Doug Devost is the President of the Vermont Bear Hunters Association. Doug has been running hounds since he was a kid. This week Heath and Doug talk about what’s going on in Vermont with a new bill to eliminate coyote hunting. Heath and Doug talk about dogs, bear and bloodlines. Although Heath and Doug have never met, Heath’s group has a dog that came from Doug through a mutual friend. As big as hound hunting stretches it’s a small world after all. Join us on the Journey.

Hunting is more than spending time in the woods taking in all of mother nature's wonders and pursuing our passions. You meet people along the way that end up being life long friends, some even close as family. One such person Heath met in 2000, Anthony O’Neill. It started over a phone call set up by Dale Cameron, to one of the best western big game hunters of his time. Heath and Anthony talk about how they met, dog trouble, how Anthony’s kids took their first bear with Heath and some of their most memorable hunts. They finish up with the deer hunt they were just on. Hunting is so much more than meets the eye. It’s all about the Journey we partake in.
