They tell their story and how every time Heath has been bit, Rob has been the common denominator. They tell

some funny stories and things they have learned along the way. There are a lot of laughs in this

one. Join Heath on the beginning of his LE K9 training.

A year later Heath follows up with Brandon Mitchell. Last year Brandon was struggling being a new hunter; having young dogs, learning on the fly, and not catching any bear.  Brandon now has another year under his belt and with some mentorship, things are headed in the right direction. If you're new to the sport follow Brandon on his journey, we all start somewhere, it’s just part of the process.

Why do we hunt? Have you ever had that conversation with yourself? Maybe you have a well thought out explanation. Perhaps you have been asked hundreds of times and been able to explain it. Hearing other people’s story helps us build our own story. It causes us to self examine our values and our goals.

Kody Lostroh is back and he is joined by Justin Angelovich to have a laid back chat with Chris. Its a deep dive into individual humble beginnings and a look at this journey they have had as Houndsmen. Kody talks about how hunting with hounds saved his life and encouraged him after professional bull riding. Justin talks about growing up in a family of Houndsmen and having great mentors. Chris throws in with some stories of long ago, hitching rides, trashy dogs and early competition hunts.

All Houndsmen have individual reasons for hunting but, in multiple ways, we hunt for life.

The Sportsmen’s Alliance is on the move. The organization has been around for decades and continues to build upon their support of hunters, particularly, hunters who hunt with hounds. The sole purpose of this group is to keep us informed of the threats and fight for hunters.

Todd Adkins is in charge of government affairs at Sportsmen’s Alliance. Todd is an expert in political issues, campaign strategy, legislative actions and he likes to fight. More importantly, he fights to win.

Chris and Todd have deep discussion on the might and power of Sportsmen’s Alliance. They discuss past track records of victories and losses. They discuss the current threats that are facing us now, such as:

• Colorado Initiative 91
• The petition to Delist Wolves in the Western Great Lakes
• The lawsuits challenging California’s governor and laws
• New threats

It is no surprise that Chad Reynolds is a Wildman. I guess maybe to one person, there is. Enter Jeff “Scary Nickname” Nader; former Bellator Light Heavyweight fighter, now Air Traffic Controller and Comedian. Jeff tells the story of his first time hog hunting with Chad and the hilarity and mayhem that follows. All Mixed Up is back after the pigs, and as always, we love to have as many laughs as possible!

After training season and a trip to Maine a conversation came up about helping make the hunt successful hunting as a group. Both Heath and Brent hunt in groups. Knowing how to navigate group hunting etiquette can mean the difference in being successful or not. The two break it down from:

• Training season
• Trip to Maine
• Equipment
• The best road men
• Knowing the dogs
• PACKING
• And the dreaded hole

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned houndsman, the excitement of the chase sometimes clouds our thinking. This is a great chance to make your journey a little bit better.

In this prequel episode, Houndsman XP welcomes Dan Gates to the show. Last week we ran an episode laying out the urgent issue of Colorado Initiative 91 that, if passed, will make it illegal to effectively and scientifically manage wildlife by hunting lions and bobcats. In this episode, we introduce you to Dan and the work he has spent 30 years doing.

The Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management (CRWM) is a premier organization that has built sustainable relationships with professional wildlife managers and Colorado Legislators. Through this laborious endeavor, Dan has placed himself and the CRWM in a key position to have a credible voice with policy makers and battle the onslaught of irresponsible wildlife management policies of the animal rights groups and their allies in state government.
