As Christians, we want to know God's will for our lives. When we make decisions, we seek guidance that we can trust. We get it from numerous sources: the Bible, pastors, things we hear, things we read, social media posts, friends, counselors, and more. 

The problem is that we often become double-minded because we consider everything we hear and see as equal. God's wisdom is available for all who seek it, as James 1:5-6 says, but you will become confused if you don't hear it in the right frame of mind.
