If you're coming out of a codependent relationship a breakup can feel that much harder because it feels like you have to rebuild your life from ground zero. I think many of us experience a codependent relationship in our lifetime but it is important to do whatever you can to prevent that from happening again.
It all comes down to finding an identity and having a life you LOVE without a partner in it. That way any partners in the future will only ADD to your life they won't have to become your whole life.
