In today's Better Wealth Episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Nicholas Abts, a practicing attorney in the Wisconsin area who happens to be both a dear friend and client. Nick introduced me to Tesla and we share a bit of our love for Tesla on the show. Nick discusses with us his story, his business, how he moves and gives his money more than one job. He also discusses risk management, wills, living trusts, real estate, and more. Listen as Nick shares great wisdom on educating yourself, how to seek out professionals and why protection can be an important aspect of life and business.  

Guest Bio: 

Nicholas ("Nick") Abts has been a practicing attorney in Wisconsin since 2009. He is originally from Green Bay and has lived in Wisconsin his entire life. After graduating from UW-Madison with B.A. in Psychology and English in 2005 and his juris doctorate in 2008, he practiced in Madison until 2014 before moving north to his current home in Wisconsin Rapids. As principal owner of Abts Law LLC, Nick has experience running a small business. He also has a background in the insurance and investment industries and has held Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses in the past as well as a life and health insurance license. The financial and sales knowledge he has accumulated gives him a rare combination of skills that few lawyers possess and allows him to work with clients to address a variety of needs. Nick currently focuses on estate planning and business law but maintains a significant family law practice as well, operating on the premise that risk management requires understanding of a wide range of legal issues that his clients may have to face throughout the course of their lives. In his spare time, Nick spends time with his wife and two children. He is also involved with Wisconsin Public Radio, the Wisconsin Rapids Family Center and various personal business and creative ventures.
