As parents our instinct can be to shelter our children from the hard things that we might think of as “adult problems”. 

Whether we realise it or not, our children pick up on these worries, so staying silent isn't an option. Starting conversations about the tricky things in life might not always be comfortable but it lays the foundation for resilience.
