#76 - Today we are talking about marriage.
Marriage is still a goal for most people. But, I often think that it is entered into with a “happily ever after” mentality; that it will be automatically blissful forever.
But like everything organic, it is a growing, morphing, changing entity just like the people who are in it. It changes because of those growing, morphing, changing people who are in it.
So, in order to preserve it, you have to make it a priority.
When you make it a priority and set the intention to keep it shiny while everything around it changes, you have lined yourself up for success.
It is not hard to do, it is just a skill set that can be learned. We are not taught this because many don’t about it themselves.
It can be learned the hard way, through experience and hard knocks, but now, with the wonder of information at our fingertips, it is readily available for those who seek it.
I am speaking with Eric Wooten, who is a couples counselor, and together with his wife Jill, is the founder of Altared Marriage which aims to help couples nurture their bond and thrive in their marriage.
I hope this podcast comes at the right time for you. I hope it gives you a direction if you are at a crossroads. And as always, I hope it gives you the impetus to learn more, and be better than you were yesterday.

#75: Today I am speaking with Master Sarah Chung, a 6th dan taekwondo black belt and winner of multiple international medals for her sport, including gold in the Asian Championships in 1992.
She also has a master's degree and is working on her Ph.D.
She has written a book. She is a teacher, a coach, a referee, an entrepreneur.
As you can tell she is good at everything she does! How does she do it?
There are many steps, but they are finite and manageable. It’s a formula, really.
And right now Master Chung is going to summarize these steps that are from her book, Master your Mind, Master you Life: How to Achieve Greatness.

ST #14 - I have another storytime for you! Every month, I downshift on one day from putting out content to help take the fear out of adulting.
Nothing to learn right now, all you have to do is just sit back or snuggle up and listen as I read you a story.
Remember how fun that was?
Today’s story is Bedtime For Frances. Do you remember this one?
Were you the kid who stalled and did everything to stay up? Do you have any of your own who do this?
Take a few minutes now to do nothing but listen to this cute story.
Follow along with the pictures!

#73- Are you are ready to start getting rid of some stuff that you have been dragging around for quite a while?
Not sure? I have some questions for you:
Is your closet jammed packed with clothes yet you feel like you have nothing to wear?
Does the sight of your closet feel overwhelming and stressful?
Do you dream of a way to lighten your load, clear some space, have a peaceful, calm closet, and still have plenty to wear?
Yes? Does that sound great?
I like minimalism. I like the concept of decreasing waste and getting rid of stuff, which for me decreases stress.
An added benefit is that this mindset crosses over to many aspects of your life. Not just your clothes!
You can apply it to your kitchen tools, cleaning products, office supplies, food, and your finances! Everything in your life.
Melissa Neacato joins me today to talk about the question, what is a capsule wardrobe?
What is it actually?
It is a way to decrease your clutter.
She is going to discuss a couple of key components from her webinar that she offers once a month on how to create your own capsule wardrobe.
Melissa was a guest on this show a while back in Episode 40, What the Heck is a 401 K?
She has a sweet and soothing way of breaking down potentially scary stuff, and walking you through the resistance.
She is here again, this time, to help take the fear out regarding downsizing your closet.

#72 - Today is a solo show and I want to talk about your health, or rather, how to get it back when you get sick or worse - get some bad news or a bad diagnosis.
First, let me give you some background about me and how I view the body and its ability to recover.
I have been a chiropractor for 29 years. I have seen a lot of injuries, a lot of poor health, and a lot of amazing recoveries, as well.
I was an elite athlete in my youth and am currently a high-level athlete now. I have personally experienced my fair share of injuries.
I am, and always have been, a very healthy person. I am very health-minded.
I am pretty good at convincing others of their wellness. Because I am so sure of what I know, and I see others as well and whole already regardless of the state they are currently in, they sort of pick up on that when they are under my care, and the great majority of the time they get better.
I don’t heal anyone. I just help them calm down a bit and give them coaching on how to help themselves, and then I can facilitate the healing process. I am just a helper.
And so right now, I would like to give you that same coaching and guidance to help you help yourself recover from whatever less-than-optimal health situation you may be facing now or in the future.
Here are 8 steps you can take to align with wellness and start healing your body.

#71 - There are so many paths to take in your life and many of you are on the college path.
It is a great path to be on, but in order to make the most of it and really enjoy the journey, there are some deliberate steps that you can take to make a smooth transition from high school to college and into your career.
There is a real need for a guided and orgainzied system that helps students make smart and informed decisions when it comes to the question, “what do I want to do with my life?”
Like basic life skills, there has not been a lot of information and help to get you started, and through, the college process, but that is beginning to change.
My guests today are Greg and Beth Langston.
For the last 20 years, Beth and Greg have empowered students to master their self-discovery, allowing them to successfully activate their life’s purpose.
They are successful professionals in their own right, successful parents, and successful entrepreneurs in the business they created together called the College Flight Plan.
Very often college is extended to 5 or even 6 years or longer and it is largely due to switching majors and not knowing what you want to do. Many people go into college with the intention of figuring it out while there, but it is tremendously expensive to do it this way.
Perhaps you don’t know that at first because the money is there from your student loans, but that loan can become a ball and chain that follows you around long after you have left college if you don't have a definite plan in place.
The College Flight Plan is a process that allows you to discover and identify things about yourself before you enter college so that you have a more direct and solid foundation from the start.
Start smart, start early, and finish on time!

#70 - Although there are many practical things that must be learned and completed in adulthood, personal development and learning how to be your best self is an ongoing refinement that lays a foundation and sets the tone for how you approach everything in your world.
We create habits in life. Everything we do, and how we are, is a habit.
How we walk, our quirks, our posture, what we eat, vices, virtues. They become who we are because we practice these things over and over again.
And one of the most destructive habits that virtually everyone carries to some degree is habitual, negative self-talk.
Most people do not even realize that they are doing it.
It ranges from seemingly harmless statements like, “Ugh, I’m so bad at math” to really detrimental words of self-degradation.
Perhaps this habit goes unnoticed because it’s just words, or maybe you think you will be motivated to change by putting yourself down, or it is what you have heard your whole life so you believe this must be who you are.
My guest today is Cheyne Towers. He is one of the creators of The Dialogue of Self-Liberation (TDSL).
This is a simple yet powerful system to free yourself from the damaging effects of negative, habitual self-talk and leave it in the past.
When you make the connection, that the stories you tell yourself and the thoughts you think about yourself, are at the core of blockages in your life, you can then begin to change your life in a positive and loving way.
Life begins to feel lighter, decisions become easier and you will naturally become kinder towards yourself and, therefore, others.
TDSL is a life skill!
I am so excited about this topic and I hope that after hearing this interview with Cheyne Towers you will be inspired to think and speak differently to the person that matters most: YOU.

#69- How well do you communicate with others?
Are you able to define what you want and express that clearly? Or do you throw out some words and hope the other person interprets them as you meant?
I am going to say that the root of a lot of problems, discord, drama, confusion, etc is poor communication.
Effective communication is a life skill.
To master this skill you must learn to put intention into it, remove emotion from it, and know what outcome you ultimately want. And you must learn to listen as well.
It is not just a skill, it is an art, and there are tools and techniques you can use to help you become better at this.
Today you will be hearing from Karen Brown Tyson who is a PR and communications consultant, a writing coach, blogger, and author.
We are about to have a great discussion about how to communicate effectively.
Karen has some great tips to help you get started in practicing your communication skills. It is a constant practice that will allow you to constantly improve.
We are also going to talk about how to handle difficult questions and situations in your job.
Good communication can help you land jobs, keep jobs, leave jobs, and it spills over into your interpersonal relationships as well.
Find out how effective communication is central to a happy and content life.
