How to un-diet with Dr. Jenn Huber

Listen Later

Dr. Jenn is a Canadian trained Naturopathic doctor, registered dietitian, and intuitive eating coach. She specialises in helping women in midlife manage menopause without dieting and food rules. Dr. Jenn believes in helping women redefine their relationship with food and build it back up with intention.

For women in early sobriety, it is really common to feel that food (especially sugar) is replacing alcohol at times as a coping mechanism. In this incredible interview, Dr. Jenn gives us an insight in to why this may be. She also discusses the diet cycle and the importance of addressing emotional hunger. She explains the role of dopamine in food cravings and the difference between food addiction and substance addiction.

Dr. Jenn emphasizes the need for adequate nutrition and balanced meals, including carbohydrates, in early sobriety. She suggests including foods that bring pleasure and not restricting or avoiding them.
