Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women, surpassing car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. Every 9 seconds in the U.S., a woman is assaulted. Abuse takes many forms—physical, sexual, emotional, and psychological.
Gail, at first, the relationship felt like a dream—love notes, admiration, and unwavering support. But as it progressed, verbal abuse crept in, followed by apologies, gifts, and empty promises. The cycle had begun.
In this episode, Lori Sutherland from the Women's Center in Melbourne, Florida, joins us to discuss domestic abuse, the importance of boundaries, and the journey to rebuilding self-esteem.
