In this episode we discuss how you must pass through the 3 levels of the continuum before gaining mastery. Too often we try to skip steps. You need to become the utility fielder before you can become the master, especially when it comes to in-extremis readiness.

IER 007 - The Skill Building Continuum

Nature doesn’t adjust to your level of skill, so we must prepare accordingly. We are whole beings, not just singular firefighters. There is a massive physical, mental, and emotional component to what we do and how we are expected to perform. Occupational training, daily workouts, growth mindset leadership lessons, and learning through other people’s experiences, across a wide range of industries will make us more resilient, and harden ourselves to the gray area we operate in on the fireground. Through your support, we will also give back to the profession that has given us so much, through charitable donations and firefighting and fitness equipment. Be more resilient to what life throws at us, be harder to kill, be forged and unbroken.
