Yes, it’s the lat Guest Review Tuesday of 2021. Today, we welcome back Matt from Australia as he takes on some rather interesting-sounding yam chips.

Yes, it’s Chad week where I am revising chips sent to me by my friend Chad (thanks, Chad!). First up, we’ve got Herr’s Game Day Flavors Tailgate Taco flavored potato chips. Boy, that’s a mouthful. I have to admit, when it think of tailgate tacos, a hard shell taco ain’t it. Still, I do love the flavors they’re going for here so let’s give it a go.

All this week I reviewed chips from Tifton, Ohio’s very own Ballreich’s potato chips sent in by Josh (@216carpenterdiem) thank you again, Josh! This week I enjoyed Sweet Thai Chili, Smoked Cheddar and Onion, and Ghost Pepper Jack potato chips, all of which were, of course, marcelled (wavy). They were all good and I think they’ll sandwich really well. But which will sandwich the best? Let us be the ones who find out.

Yes, we’re rounding out Ballreich’s week with some Ghost Pepper Jack flavored potato chips sent in by Josh (thank you, again!). I, hopefully, saved the spiciest for last. I love the flavor of Monterey Jack. And when done right (looking at you with a side-eye, Trader Joe’s) Ghost Pepper can bring both a lot of heat and flavor to the party. So let’s see how they did, shall we?

Well, my camera’s memory card is acting up. In fact, it saved today’s episode (which I recorded last Friday) as an empty data file. So, not really an eating review as much as a fond look back at a review of Ballreich’s Smoked Cheddar and Onion potato chips sent in by Josh (thank you!)

Last week’s experiment was fun! But I did burn through 9 bags of chips! While I wanted to pick up the pace, that was a bit too much. This week, I am reverting back to the old format, then I’m going to be taking a week off over Christmas and then back the week after where I may go to two chips, three times a week.

Anyway, this week I am doing nothing but Ballreich’s chips sent into my Josh (thank you). All of these chips are out of Ohio. Tiffin, Ohio to be exact. We’re kicking things off with their Sweet Thai Chili potato chips.

And one last thing, the memory card for my camera is glitching and saved Wednesday’s review as a useless data file instead of a movie. So, I will be shooting and posting a “look back” version so there’s a review Wednesday. Sorry about that.

Yes, with the format test this week comes a slightly modified Can It Sandwich? This week, I’m pitting the winners from Monday, Wednesday, and Friday against each other to see which one will come out on top. So, which will it be? Wilde Brand Himalayan Pink Salt Chicken Chips, Estrella Sea Salt potato chips from Sweden, or The Whole Shebang Extreme potato chips. Only one way to find out!

Yes, rounding out this weeks experiment to see if reviewing an exponential amount of chips would be a good thing or a bad thing. While it didn’t kill me, it greatly accelerated my decrease on chips waiting to be reviewed. Perhaps a little too much. So, next week I’m, going back to 1 flavor per review.

But today, we’ve got The Whole Shebang Extreme which is basically a hot All Dressed flavored potato chip (sent in by Josh, thank you!). Stubbs Sweet Spicy BBQ flavored potato chips. And, from Clancy’s, Nashville Hot Chicken potato chips (sent in by my man Chad, thank you!. Should be interesting!

Yes, that’s right it’s a plain chip-off…kinda. I mean the dark chips technically are plain as there’s no other seasoning than salt but the potato is higher in sugar which caramelizes when cook thus making them dark. Anyway, despite my mispronunciation in the video today, we have Corell’s Potato chips sent in by Josh, Estrella Sea Salt potato chips sent in by Jon, and Better Made Rainbow Old Fashioned Dark potato chips sent in my Chard. Thank you all for sending these in, I really do appreciate it. Ok, let’s get into the chips, shall we?

Ok, trying a new format this week. Rather than review one chip for each episode I’m going to be reviewing three and the winner of each day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) will go on to “Can It Sandwich?” on Saturday. While it won’t always be just one brand, today it is. Himalayan Pink Salt, Salt & Vinegar, and Jalapeño chicken chips from Wilde BRand. Made from actual chicken meat and tapioca flour. Should be fun
