Palomares is on faculty at the University of Georgia and has conducted several research trials utilizing injectable trace mineral supplementation. We discuss the critical trace minerals for cattle health and production which include selenium, copper, zinc and manganese. These trace minerals are important for immune system function as part of the antioxidant system to reduce and neutralize free radicals as well as important for cattle reproduction and fertility.
