  • 40: If only, RIC TO RBR; Mclaren - Give Us TOONED

Yes, we said it, and don't tell us that it hasn't crossed your mind either. Apart from a guy named Cyril, is there anyone who wouldn't want Daniel Ricciardo to be back in Red Bull Racing in 2020? After all, Red Bull-Toro Rosso are still figuring their line-up for next season. Remember 2013? Nico Hulkenberg deflected to Sauber for exactly one season before returning to Force India. Could Ricciardo actually do a Hulkenberg?

In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we talk Mclaren - can they please bring back TOONED? Max Verstappen is a future World Champion, but when he exactly will he challenge for the title and with which team? Ferrari's neutral approach towards its drivers, now that's a first. Liberty Media's struggling to get a sign-off on the rules for 2021, why not put Bernie Ecclestone in action? Tune in!
    (Season 2019, Episode 40)
Here's what's in store for you in this episode:
    - Are the other Formula 1 race promoters jealous of the could-be Miami Grand Prix?
    - Will Max Verstappen have to wait patiently to win his first-ever Formula 1 World Championship?
    - Mclaren-Sainz, can we also have TOONED back in our lives?
    - Ferrari being un-Ferrari like, they do deserve an applaud
    - The lessons from Daniel Ricciardo's move to Renault + court-room drama. Can Ricciardo do a Nico Hulkenberg (a la 2013)?
    - Liberty Media needs to get Bernie Ecclestone to get a sign-off on the rules for 2021
    - Is Valtteri Bottas going to follow Kimi Raikkonen and open a bar in Finland?
    - Lucien's Moments in Time

  • 39: FIFA Is F1's Official Video Game

FIFA is Formula 1's "official" video game, at least if you ask the drivers. In fact, Max Verstappen's traveling console is state-of-art. In this FIFA obsession, did Formula 1 miss a trick in not promoting 'F1 2019', the sport's official video game? Or maybe FIFA is what Formula 1 needs to announce as the sport's official game. Bernie Ecclestone would've blown a fuse seeing Formula 1 drivers promoting Football!

In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we discuss Lewis Hamilton's 'go vegan' message while applauding Mercedes for securing a record-breaking 6th championship double. Formula 1 politics are working overtime as the sport works on finalising the regulations from 2021. We discuss some of the rule changes that should come through despite opposition from teams. Why Formula 1 won't host qualifying and the race on the same day. Finally, Carlos Sainz Jr. may be 'Mr. Invisible' in Formula 1, but definitely not on our podcast. Tune in!
    (Season 2019, Episode 39)
Here's what's in store for you in this episode:
    1. FIFA as Formula 1's official game, Max Verstappen as Game Director
    2. Robert Kubica-Haas - a win-win for both; Haas get an experienced driver at the cheapest possible cost
    3. Carlos Sainz Jr.'s attempt at building an alternative to his Formula 1 career
    4. Forget 2021, Formula 1 is already discussing power unit regulations for 2025 - just how much percentage of a Formula 1 car is powered by electric power, do you know?
    5. We're betting against George Russell and will win his house at the end of the 2020 Formula 1 season
    6. Eddie Irvine's pro-Charles Leclerc statements. Is he trying to please Ferrari? Or is just he just repeating what we've been discussing on the Inside Line F1 Podcast?

  • 38: Steiner-FIA Spat Great For Netflix-F1 Show

Guenther Steiner is a character that keeps giving, especially when it comes to the Netflix-F1 show. Thankfully, the star of season 1 of 'Drive to Survive' was let off with a small financial penalty. In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we wonder if Mclaren-Mercedes is a sign that Fernando Alonso isn't returning to Formula 1 with the top-4 teams. Toto Wolff is afraid that Mclaren might be a threat for Mercedes come 2021, in which case, let's give Mercedes engines to Red Bull Racing too? The Verstappen camp can complain as much as they want, but Max Verstappen may not have anywhere else to go in 2021. Finally, the young Formula 1 drivers are already lining up alternative careers for themselves. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 38) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 1. Who will be the top dog at Ferrari is the BIG question, but the BIGGER question is if Ferrari will be the top dog at all races going forward 2. Romain Grosjean's plea to his fellow drivers, one that will (and should) fall on deaf ears 3. This week's feature - Guenther Steiner's indiscretions against the FIA and the resulting penalty; awesomesauce for the Netflix-F1 show season 2 4. Helmut Marko's honest assessment of Max Verstappen's performances in the races after the summer break 5. Cyril blames the FIA for everything while gearing up for a Ricciardo-Ocon rivalry. Let's hope their rivalry isn't for 15th-16th places on the grid 6. Lucien's Moments in Time section - for all your Formula 1 history buffs! Image courtesy: Haas F1 Team

  • 37: Vettel or Leclerc: Who Would You Pick For Ferrari?

Charles Leclerc or Sebastian Vettel, who should Ferrari pick as their 'number 1' driver? We discuss our choices in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, what would be yours? Tell us!

Also in this episode, we wonder if Ferrari would benefit politically and financially by not renewing Vettel's contract at the end of 2020. Should that happen, would Vettel be Red Bull Racing bound - after all, Max Verstappen could choose Mclaren-Mercedes if Red Bull-Honda don't deliver to their promises. Lots of speculations, but also, a lot of possibilities.
Finally, Formula 1 is coordinating (or scheming?) to ensure positive communication around the attempted qualifying races in 2020. We can't fathom why they are hell bent on taking our joys away from the watching a Formula 1 car being driven on the limit! And of course, there's the What Wolff Said This Week section for your listening pleasure. Tune in!
    (Season 2019, Episode 37)
    Other points discussed:
    1. Alexander Albon on pole position for a Red Bull Racing drive in 2020 - do you care? Because Max Verstappen doesn't
    2. Is Jacques Villeneuve really in a place to talk about 'karma'?
    3. Daniil Kvyat loses out for being a good boy with the FIA
    4. Why 2019 form factor could matter in 2020
    5. Silly of Mclaren not to even bother trying to get Ferrari power for their cars

  • 36: Red Bull Racing Go Red Bull Missing

Red Bull Racing Missing! In the races after the summer break, Red Bull Racing-Honda has struggled to mount a challenge. They've had on-track incidents and penalties marring their progress, but this is the second half of the season - the time when Red Bull Racing are supposed to be at their strongest best. Will the Max Verstappen camp be worried? And after all these years of drama, does one really care who occupies the second seat at Red Bull Racing? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we talk about the Schumacher cousins and if both would make it to Formula 1. We discuss reverse grids and how soon before Kevin Magnussen joins Lewis Hamilton's crusade against use of plastic. Given the lack of clarity around the black-white flag, should the FIA rename it as the grey flag? Finally, it would be a pain to be Valtteri Bottas' accountant - living in the hope that Mercedes would pay back for playing wingman to Lewis Hamilton. Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 36) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: Reverse grids in Formula 1, or not? Lewis Hamilton's worries about his 6th World Champion, should he really? 3:00-6:00: Should the black-white flag be re-introduced as a grey flag? After all, its application seems very grey - to the drivers at least 6:00-9:00: Kevin Magnussen to join Lewis Hamilton's crusade against the use of plastic? The three stages of Robert Kubica's career in Formula 1 9:00-12:00: Will we have two Schumachers in Formula 1 in the time to come? A listener, Fabian Wield, has seen David Schumacher race and he tells us who he thinks is the faster of the Schumacher cousins 12:00-15:00: From Red Bull Racing to Red Bull Missing! They've just failed to turn up after the summer break. Will Max Verstappen be worriedly looking for drives elsewhere? 15:00-18:00: After repeated uncertainty and drama, do fans really care about the second seat at Red Bull Racing? Did any of you send handwritten letters to Sebastian Vettel? 18:00-21:00: Valtteri Bottas needs an accountant - to keep a track of all pay-backs from Mercedes. • 35: Hamilton: First-ever Formula 1 & Formula E Champion?

Sooner or later, someone's going to attempt this record - to be a dual champion, Formula 1 and Formula E. Given Mercedes' new entry into the all-electric series, who better than Lewis Hamilton to lead the team to double glory. Early days, but this would be a thrilling proposition in the world of Motorsport.

Also in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we wonder if Sebastian Vettel can keep it clean for the next 3 races and if not, could Fernando Alonso make a one-off comeback to Formula 1 and Ferrari? The increasing possibility of a 25 race Formula 1 calendar, Ferrari & Mattia Binotto's refusal of a Leclerc-Verstappen pairing.
And there's more - Daniel Ricciardo's earnings at Renault, Sergio Perez's choice of pizza toppings and the possibility of a Schumacher-Raikkonen partnership at Alfa Romeo in 2021. Romain Grosjean's decision to piss-off Hamilton over his wife and alternate roles in Formula 1 for George Russell and Lando Norris. This is one of our longest episodes of the year, lots of fun and discussions, tune in!
    (Season 2019, Episode 35)
Here's what's in store for you in this episode:
0:00-3:00: Can Sebastian Vettel deliver three clean races? The senior Ferrari driver has different targets to drive to. Else, could Fernando Alonso get a one-off return to Formula 1 with Ferrari?
3:00-6:00: Can electronic sensors be used to make the sport safer? They're definitely being explored for policing track limits
6:00-9:00: Formula 1's future could still see the DRS being used to solve the problem of overtaking. There's a lot of classic circuits trying to re-join the Formula 1 bangwagon - a 25-race calendar looking possible?
9:00-12:00: Mattia Binotto denies Max Verstappen a chance to be Charles Leclerc's team-mate at Ferrari. Ferrari believe that Formula E could actually pose a threat to Formula 1. Strange that they're staying from the all-electric series then!
12:00-15:00: The strange stories of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes' union. Also, could Hamilton become the first-ever Formula 1 and Formula E champion? Alternate roles for George Russell and Lando Norris, can you gues what they could be?
15:00-18:00: Daniel Ricciardo's contract details are out in the open. We discuss the most obvious ones. Renault under peer-pressure to get their junior driver program to deliver world-class talent in Formula 1
18:00-21:00: Romain Grosjean, who just got awarded his 5th unexpected contract extension in Formula 1, realised that he'd rather piss off Lewis Hamilton than his wife!
21:00-24:00: Kimi Raikkonen's love affair with his steering wheel continues. A Schumacher-Raikkonen pairing at Alfa Romeo in 2021? Or a Schumacher-Hulkenberg pairing could be?
24:00-27:00: Would you prefer to award medals rather than championship points? Lucien's Moments in Time + a heartfelt goodbye to Nico Hulkenberg?
