  • #245 Cameron van der Burgh on breaststroke, commodities trading, & teaching confidence

South African Cameron van der Burgh won gold in the Men's 100 Breaststroke at the 2012 Olympics and silver four years later in Rio. He helped move breaststroke forward with a high tempo and focus on the shorter events. Over his career he won 10 LCM World Champs medals and 8 SCM World Champ medals in the 50 & 100 Breaststrokes.

Now a commodities trader in London, Cameron still gets in the water 3-4 times a week. Don't be surprised if you see him in a Masters meet soon enough.

In this episode, Brett and Cameron talk about how he changed breaststroke, how he trained breaststroke, and how to teach confidence.

  • #243 Student of the sport, Björn Seeliger, breaks down 18.27, backstroke, taper

Björn Seeliger is a 22 year old Swedish Olympic sprinter. A sophomore at the University of California, he is fresh off winning the team title at NCAA's. Björn collected two silver medals in the 50 and 100 Freestyles just behind Brooks Curry. Leading off the 200 Free Relay, he dropped the 2nd fastest 50 SCY Free ever: 18.27. Oh, and the fastest 50 Backstroke (20.08) in history!

A student of the sport, Brett and Björn break down everything. How Ryan Murphy helped him perfect his backstroke start. What he's learned from Caeleb Dressel. And, of course, his 50 Free.
