"McKenna "Dr. Mac" Hereford is a licensed psychologist and host of Revealing the Ivory Tower podcast. She graduated with her masters in psychology in 2013 and Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 2020. She has intentionally sought a variety of clinical experiences, including corrections, outpatient eating disorders, multiple inpatient and outpatient medical settings for children and adults, community mental health, college counseling, and now private practice. Her research has consisted of an emphasis on racial disparities in healthcare and mental healthcare. Her clinical specializations include complex cases, serious mental illness, relationships/non-monogamy, characterological concerns, and trauma. She provides consultation for complex cases, cultural humility, and disparities in healthcare. Dr. Mac is passionate about science, providing nuance on social media, and teaching the public to think with a critical lens."
