"El Conde" had its world premiere at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival (where it won the Golden Osella for Best Screenplay), where it received positive reviews for its satire of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet as a 250-year-old vampire seeking death. Three-time Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Edward Lachman was tasked with bringing Pablo Larraín's unique vision to the screen in stunningly gorgeous black and white.
