It was the long awaited hit-out that Hawk fans all over the country have been waiting for - the first official meaningful match practice in the 2023 pre-season calendar.

The scene was set at Latrobe University in Bundoora, and in beautiful conditions we were on hand to get a good look at our young chargers in match sim for the first time this year.

How did our draftees fare?

Did our new recruits stake a claim for Round 1?

Who impressed and who failed to fire?

How did the ruck combination look like?

And which players caught the eye?
