On a night when Republicans across the country did worse than many had predicted, Gov. Ron DeSantis won in a landslide in Florida. Once a swing state that both parties fought to win in presidential elections, Florida has increasingly become a bastion of Republican politics because of changing demographics and strong campaigns by GOP candidates.
